Optional Additional Leave (Unpaid Supplemental Leave. An employee, upon completion of the Maternity and Parental Leaves as described in Sections (b) and (c), is entitled, upon a four (4) week advance notice, to receive an unpaid leave of absence. This Leave is to be continuous with the Maternity and Parental Leave. Employees will not accrue any benefits while they are on an extension of the Maternity Leave. If an employee wishes to continue her eligibility for coverage for B.C. Medical Services Plan benefits, Extended Health and Group Life Insurance, the employee shall bear the full cost of the premiums during this Leave. These premiums are to be paid monthly in advance. If an employee opts to continue these benefits, then the three (3) month qualification period will not be required when the employee returns to work. If an employee does not opt to continue these benefits then the employee is to sign a waiver to this effect and the three (3) month qualification period shall apply upon the employee's return to work. The maximum continuous period of Maternity Leave, Parental Leave and this unpaid supplemental leave shall not exceed one (1) year from the commencement of the Maternity Leave.

This leave is to be continuous with the Pregnancy and/or Parental Leave. Employees will not accrue any benefits while they are on an extension of the Pregnancy and/or Parental leave. If an employee wishes to continue his/her eligibility for BC Medical Services Plan benefits, Extended Health and Group Life Insurance, the employee shall bear the full cost of the premiums during this leave. These premiums are to be paid monthly in advance. If an employee does not opt to continue these benefits then the employee is to sign a waiver to this effect and the three-month qualification period shall apply upon the employee’s return to work.   • Extended Unpaid Maternity Leave (a) An employee is entitled to apply for leave without pay following Maternity Leave (“extended unpaid Maternity Leave”) to extend their leave by up to two years.

  • Additional Leave Any further leave granted beyond the normal thirty-seven (37) week period, or the forty-two (42) week period for special circumstances, will be unpaid leave without benefits.

  • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:

  • Unpaid Personal Leave Where an employee has exhausted all paid personal leave entitlements, they are entitled to take unpaid personal leave to care for members of their immediate family or household who are sick and require care and support or who require care due to an unexpected emergency. The employer and the employee shall agree on the period. In the absence of agreement, the employee is entitled to take up to two days (up to a maximum of 16 hours) of unpaid leave per occasion, provided the requirements of 7.2.5(a) and 7.2.5(b) are met.

  • Amount of Paid Personal Leave (i) Paid personal leave is available to an employee, when they are absent:

  • Personal Leave Accrual All employees shall accrue personal leave at the rate of one and twenty-three hundredths (1.23) hours for each eighty (80) hours in active pay status, excluding overtime hours, not to exceed a total of thirty-two (32) hours accrued in one year.

  • Extended Personal Leave Personal leave without pay not to exceed thirty (30) 26 days may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent. Personal leave in 27 excess of thirty (30) days shall be subject to approval by the Board.
