Amount of Paid Personal Leave. (a) The amount of personal leave to which a full-time employee is entitled depends on how long they have worked for the employer and accrues as follows:
(i) up to 7 hours and 36 minutes, for each month of service in the first year of service (provided that where an employee works regular shifts of 9.1 paid hours or longer the employee will receive 7.6 hours per month of service or 10 days leave, whichever provides the greater benefit);
(ii) up to 106 hours and 24 minutes in each year in the second, third and fourth years of service; and
(iii) up to 159 hours and 36 minutes in the fifth and following years of service.
(b) In respect of part-time employees, the entitlement shall be on a pro rata basis of time worked.
Amount of Paid Personal Leave. (1) Subject to the requirements of this clause 16 below, an employee is entitled to paid personal leave of 10 days per year, accumulating on a pro rata basis, when absent from work in the following circumstances:
(a) due to personal illness or injury (sick leave); or
(b) for the purposes of caring for a member of the employee’s immediate family or member of the employee’s household who is sick or injured and requires the employee’s care (xxxxx’s leave).
(2) For the purpose of the above, “year” shall mean the twelve calendar months between the date of engagement and the corresponding date in the following calendar year and each successive year thereafter.
(3) The employee will not be paid out accrued but untaken personal leave on termination of employment.
(4) An employee is also entitled to 2 days’ compassionate leave per occasion as paid personal leave.
Amount of Paid Personal Leave. (i) Paid personal leave will be available to a full time employee when they are absent due to
(a) Personal illness or injury (sick leave); or
(b) Caring for an immediate family or household member who is sick and requires the employee’s care and support (xxxxx’s leave).
(ii) A full time employee is entitled to the following amount of personal leave: On the first day of the month immediately following commencement of continuous employment. On the first day of the next eight months following commencement of continuous employment. After the first, and each successive year of continuous employment.
Amount of Paid Personal Leave. (a) An Employee is entitled to the following amount of paid personal leave:
(i) 91 hours and 12 minutes in the first year of service;
(ii) 106 hours and 24 minutes in each year in the second, third and fourth years of service;
(iii) 152 hours in the fifth and following years of service.
(b) Paid personal leave accrues progressively during a year of service according to the Employee’s ordinary hours of work (excluding overtime) and accumulates from year to year.

(b) An Employee other than Dental Assistants employed by DHSV or Ballarat Health Service is entitled to the following amount of paid personal leave:
(i) 91 hours and 12 minutes or as provided by the NES (whichever is greater) in the first year of service;
(ii) 106 hours and 24 minutes or as provided by the NES (whichever is the greater) in each year in the second, third and fourth years of service;
(iii) 159.6 hours in the fifth and following years of service.
(c) Dental Assistants employed by DHSV or Ballarat Health Service are entitled to 91 hours and 12 minutes of paid personal leave or as provided by the NES (whichever is greater) for each year of service
Amount of Paid Personal Leave. Paid personal leave will be available to an Employee when they are absent because of:
(a) personal illness or injury; or
(b) personal illness or injury of an immediate family or household member who requires the Employee's care and support; or
(c) an unexpected emergency affecting an immediate family or household member;

(i) 91 hours and 12 minutes (12 days) in the first year of service;
(ii) 106 hours and 24 minutes (14 days) in each year in the second, third and fourth years of service; and
(iii) 159 hours 36 minutes (21 days) in each year in the fifth and following years of service. A ‘day’ equals 7 hours and 36 minutes in this clause 62.
(b) Paid personal leave accrues progressively during a year of service according to the Employee’s ordinary hours of work (excluding overtime) and accumulates from year to year.
(c) A part-time Employee accrues personal leave on a pro-rata basis.
(d) The Employer may, at its discretion, credit personal leave in advance of accrual to an Employee.
