Other Excused Absences. 1. Personal Days a. In addition to the absences permitted under Sections A through C above, each Administrator may request to be excused without loss of pay for not more than a total of three (3) days per school year for the following reasons and under the following conditions: (1) Obligatory religious holidays requiring absence from work, or performance of religious ceremonies and obligations during regular school hours. (2) Illness of other members of the family. (3) Attendance at a funeral, other than immediate family. (4) Personal business which cannot be handled outside of school hours. (5) Wedding or birth in the immediate family. (6) Unforeseeable emergencies which result in absence allowed at the discretion of the Superintendent. b. It is intended that these three (3) days be available as a reserve for genuine emergencies and professional purposes only and unused days are converted to accumulated sick days, provided that the fifteen (15) day accumulation limitation set forth in N.J.S.A. 18A:30-7 is not exceeded. c. Requests for absences are to be made in writing as far in advance as possible. In an emergency, the request must be made to the principal or supervisor by telephone or other means of communication. The request or, in an emergency, a report will be forwarded to the Superintendent in writing with the principal's or supervisor's recommendation. 2. Attendance at a professional meeting or participation in a professional activity which would be of direct benefit to the school system. 3. The Board shall grant maternity/paternity leave without pay to any administrator in accordance with Board policy and the law. 4. No personal day shall be taken immediately before or after a holiday or a weekend adjoining a holiday except for extenuating circumstances at the discretion of Superintendent. 5. The Administrator requesting a personal day must inform the Superintendent of the reason as related to Article XI.D.(1)-(6). 6. The Superintendent, in his discretion, shall approve or disapprove the request and notify the Administrator of his decision through the principal or supervisor.

Unforeseeable emergencies which result in absence allowed at the discretion of the Superintendent. 2. The Superintendent, in his discretion, based on the reason given by the employee as per D.1. above requesting use of these days, shall approve or disapprove the request and notify the employee of his decision through the employee's immediate supervisor.

  • Other Leaves of Absence In the event that you are on a bona fide leave of absence, not otherwise described in this definition, from which you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, your Separation from Service has occurred on the first day on which your leave of absence period exceeds six months or, if earlier, upon your termination of employment (provided that such termination of employment constitutes a Separation from Service in accordance with the last sentence of the first paragraph of this definition).

  • Unpaid Leave of Absence If an employee is on an unpaid leave of absence, then vacation leave, compensatory time, or sick leave cannot be used for the purpose of maintaining eligibility for an Employer Contribution by keeping the employee on a State payroll for one (1) working day per pay period.

  • Unpaid Leaves of Absence 24.01 An employee who has completed one (1) year of continuous service with the Employer may be granted a leave of absence without pay or benefits because of injury, illness, education purposes, employment by the Union, or other personal reasons, including maternity leave. The decision to grant the leave or the length of the leave period will be at the discretion of the Employer with due consideration given to the reasons and evidence presented by the employee to the Employer. Such requests shall not be unreasonably denied. 24.02 All leaves of absence (and any extensions thereof) must be applied for and granted in writing on forms provided by the Employer (with a copy to the employee). Except in cases of emergency, the leave request shall be filed with the employee's Department Head not later than two (2) weeks prior to the date on which the leave is to start. Along with the request for the leave, he shall supply any and all available documentation in support of said leave. This documentation shall consist of medical proof of disability in cases where the leave is for medical purposes and the specific reason for the leave when the leave is for other purposes. An employee will be notified in writing within five (5) working days from the date the application was made of the approval or disapproval of the leave of absence request for ten (10) working days or less. For a leave request in excess of ten (10) working days, the employee will be notified within two (2) weeks from the date the application was made of the approval or disapproval of the leave. An employee who is granted such a leave shall not accrue any benefits during his absence, including seniority. 24.03 Leaves of absence will not be granted for the employee to seek employment with another employer, nor shall any employee work for another employer during the time period he is on leave. Any employee who works for another employer while on leave shall have his leave canceled immediately and be subject to disciplinary action. 24.04 When an employee returns to work after a leave of absence, he will be assigned to the position which he formerly occupied or to a similar position if his former position no longer exists at the applicable rate of pay, provided the employee is able to perform the work. 24.05 An employee may, upon request, return to work prior to the expiration of any leave of absence, provided that such early return is agreed to by the Employer. 24.06 Employees absent from work without authorization or approval shall be considered on an unauthorized leave. An unauthorized leave for a period of more than four (4) eight (8) hour consecutive working days may, at the Employers discretion, subject the employee to disciplinary action, including discharge.

  • Illegal Dumping The Contractor shall ensure that it and all of its Subcontractors and assigns prevent illegal dumping of litter in accordance with Title 5, Texas Health and Safety Code, Chapter 365.

  • Extended Absences In the event Tenant will be away from the Premises for more than 7 consecutive days, Tenant agrees to notify Landlord in writing of such absence. During such absence, Landlord may enter the premises at times reasonable necessary to maintain the property and inspect for damages and needed repairs.

  • Act of God Days Act of God" days beyond the allowance by Michigan Law and the Department of Education regulations will be made up by the students and assistants at the end of the school year or at other times as specified by the calendar. Assistants will only receive compensation for the "Act of God" days allowed. When a scheduled day of schoolwork is delayed, association members shall report as near as possible to their regular starting times. Assistants will receive their full day's pay when the school day is shortened due to weather or mechanical problems.

  • Other Leaves Other short-term leaves may be granted at the discretion of the Chancellor. The Chancellor’s decision to approve or deny the request shall be final.

  • Unpaid Leave Accrued compensatory time off may be used at the employee’s discretion, with management approval, after exhaustion of 100% sick leave (No. 3 above). However, FLSA compensatory time off shall not be counted against the employee’s four (4) month (nine [9] pay period [720 hours]) family or medical leave entitlement. Therefore, any use of FLSA compensatory time off under this Section shall extend the employee’s family or medical leave by the total amount of FLSA compensatory time off used.

  • Other Leave Granting of leave is a matter between the employees and the mill management. The Company will consider length of service and will endeavour to arrange leave of absence to suit the employee's wishes. Employees with ten or more years service will be given special consideration.
