Other Leave Benefits. The Superintendent shall be awarded other leave benefits as follows: • Legal: Time necessary for appearance in any legal proceeding connected with the school system, when the superintendent is required by law to attend shall be permitted. Additionally, the superintendent shall be expected to represent the district in legal proceedings involving the district as part of his professional duties. • Death in the Family/Bereavement Leave/Attendance at Funerals: A total of not more than five consecutive work days at full pay is allowed for absences in case of death in the immediate family heretofore defined in this contract and shall also include his brother grandchildren, son-in- law, or person in the same home or as part of the family for the purpose of attending the funeral or attending to matters related to the death. One (1) work day on full pay is allowed for each employee for absence in case of death of other members of the family, defined as sister-in-law, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, or cousins for the purpose of attending the funeral or attending to matters related to the death. In the event one day of leave is not sufficient, up to two (2) additional consecutive work days may be provided for the family members referenced in this paragraph; however, such additional days shall come from the superintendent’s sick leave or sick leave accumulation or the superintendent’s vacation leave as he may direct. Bereavement Leave is not limited to five days or one day respectively in one year, but covers each death in the immediate family which occurs during the year. The superintendent shall be excused to attend funeral services of relatives or friends other than those listed above and shall be permitted to utilize vacation leave for such attendance. The superintendent shall be excused to attend funeral services of individuals that have current or past relationships with the school district or staff of the school district or others that the superintendent may feel that a representative of the district should attend. Such absences shall be reported to the board. In the event that the board wishes to provide further guidance or expectations concerning this paragraph, the board may do so by action of a majority of the board without the superintendent’s consent; however, such action shall not be retroactive. For the purposes of this section, “funeral” includes memorial services, remembrance services, rosary, or other activities related to the death of the individual.

Bereavement Xxxxxxxxxxx leave is provided to employees in the event of the death of an immediate family member (spouse, domestic partner, child, step-child, sibling, parent, stepparent, grandchild, grandparent or the child, step-child, sibling, parent, stepparent, grandchild or grandparent of the employee's spouse or domestic partner). This leave may be utilized to attend a funeral or memorial service and to make necessary arrangements associated with the death. Time may be granted in consecutive and non-consecutive days. Such leave will be paid up to three (3) days.

Other Leave Benefits. 7.13.1 Leave benefits provided to teachers by the Education Code are incorporated into this Agreement, except as supplemented in the Article. 7.13.2 Unit members returning from leave shall, whenever possible, be reinstated in the position held at the time they went on leave unless the unit member agrees otherwise.

  • Leave Benefits Paid leave is available to the Superintendent when the following specific conditions are met: (1) the Superintendent is currently employed by the District and (2) the paid leave day is taken on a day Superintendent would otherwise be expected to be at work.

  • Pregnancy Leave Benefits Where superior provisions exist, as a result of the meshing of the 2012 MOU with any superior provisions that existed in the 2008-2012 collective agreements, they must be incorporated into the common central provisions in Article 11.2 of Part A of this agreement and the resulting article placed in Part B of this agreement.

  • Sick Leave Benefits Sick leave is an indemnity benefit and not an acquired right. A Nurse who is absent from a scheduled shift on approved sick leave shall only be entitled to sick leave pay if the Nurse is not otherwise receiving pay for that day, and providing the Nurse has sufficient sick leave credits.

  • General Benefits During the Term of Employment, the Executive shall be entitled to participate in such employee pension and welfare benefit plans and programs of the Company as are made available to the Company's senior-level executives or to its employees generally, as such plans or programs may be in effect from time to time, including, without limitation, health, medical, dental, long-term disability, travel accident and life insurance plans.

The County shall contribute to part-time eligible employees on a pro-rated basis, in accordance with Section 10.2.6.

  • Vacation Benefits During the Term, the Executive shall be eligible for 20 vacation days annually, which shall be accrued and used in accordance with the applicable policies of the Company. During the Term, the Executive shall be eligible to participate in such medical, dental and life insurance, retirement and other plans as the Company may have or establish from time to time on terms and conditions applicable to other senior executives of the Company generally. The foregoing, however, shall not be construed to require the Company to establish any such plans or to prevent the modification or termination of such plans once established.

  • Part-Time Benefits time employee shall receive in lieu of all fringe benefits (being those benefits to an employee, paid in whole or in part by the hospitals, as part of direct compensation or otherwise, including holiday pay, save and except salary, vacation pay, standby pay, call-in pay, responsibility pay, jury and witness duty, bereavement leave, and pregnancy and parental supplemental unemployment benefits) an amount equal to 14% of his regular straight time hourly rate for all straight time hours paid. For part-time employees who are members of the Hospital's pension plan the percentage in lieu of fringe benefits is twelve percent (12%).

  • Welfare Benefits Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, for a period of six (6) months following the date of the Involuntary Termination (and an additional twelve (12) months if the Executive provides consulting services under Section 14(f) hereof), the Executive and his dependents shall be provided with group medical benefits which are substantially similar to those provided from time to time to similarly situated active employees of the Company (and their eligible dependents) (“Medical Continuation Benefits”). Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, such Medical Continuation Benefits shall be provided on substantially the same terms and conditions and at the same cost to the Executive as apply to similarly situated active employees of the Company. Such benefits shall be provided in a manner that complies with Treasury Regulation Section 1.409A-1(a)(5). Notwithstanding the foregoing, if Sempra Energy determines in its sole discretion that the Medical Continuation Benefits cannot be provided without potentially violating applicable law (including, without limitation, Section 2716 of the Public Health Service Act) or that the provision of Medical Continuation Benefits under this Agreement would subject Sempra Energy or any of its Affiliates to a material tax or penalty, (i) the Executive shall be provided, in lieu thereof, with a taxable monthly payment in an amount equal to the monthly premium that the Executive would be required to pay to continue the Executive’s and his covered dependents’ group medical benefit coverages under COBRA as then in effect (which amount shall be based on the premiums for the first month of COBRA coverage) or (ii) Sempra Energy shall have the authority to amend the Agreement to the limited extent reasonably necessary to avoid such violation of law or tax or penalty and shall use all reasonable efforts to provide the Executive with a comparable benefit that does not violate applicable law or subject Sempra Energy or any of its Affiliates to such tax or penalty.
