Payment of Sick Leave Benefits. Sick leave benefits are based on the employee's regular base rate of pay (including shift differential, but excluding all other premiums, bonuses, or overtime payments), and payment is made when the sick leave is actually taken. Employees may take sick leave in minimum one (1) hour increments, and sick leave may be taken for personal illness, illness of a dependent where care by the employee is required, or medical, dental or eye appointments for the employee or a dependent.
