Personal Bereavement. Should an employee require leave because of the death of a parent, parent-in- law, spouse/domestic partner, or child the district will provide three (3) paid bereavement days. For a sibling, sibling-in-law, grandparent, aunt/uncle, or niece/nephew the district will provide (2) paid bereavement leave days. This shall not be deducted from the employee’s sick leave. For other bereavement, such as those close to the family, the bereavement policy stated in 7.1 stands.

For a sibling, grandparent, grandchild, aunt/uncle, niece/nephew, sibling-in-law, son/daughter-in-law, grandparent-in- law the district will provide (2) paid bereavement leave days. Xxxxxxxxxxx leave is paid leave which is available to an employee at the time of death and funeral of a member of the employee’s immediate family as defined above, in order to plan and attend the visitation/funeral/memorial service.

  • Personal/Xxxxx’s Leave 7.3.1 All full time employees shall be entitled to accrue paid personal / carer's leave on the basis of 10 days per year (or pro-rata thereof for any period less than one year). Part-time employees are entitled to a pro-rata benefit. Paid personal / carer's leave is cumulative.

  • Bereavement A maximum of three (3) days earned sick leave may be used per occurrence for bereavement due to the death of persons in the immediate or extended family, as defined herein, or any relative who resided with the employee.

  • Personal Illness Employees may use accumulated sick leave for hours off due to personal illness. The employee may be required to furnish a medical certificate from a qualified physician as evidence of illness or physical disability in order to qualify for paid sick leave as per District practice. Accumulated sick leave may also be granted for such time as is actually necessary for office visits to a doctor, dentist, optometrist, etc.

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 15.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a Tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer.

  • Personal/Carer’s Leave a) Personal/carer’s leave is defined in accordance with Section 244 of the Act and includes paid sick leave (accrued under the AFPCS) and paid or unpaid carer’s leave (accrued under the AFPCS). Casual employees shall have no entitlement to paid personal/carer’s leave.
