Post-Employment/Transitional Supportive Services a. Described below are the supports and strategies the district will provide to support job retention: Employed active clients may have the full array of services available to them, as well as the employment related services of their Employment Counselor, ie transportation assistance, car repair, clothing, tools, DMV costs. Documentation of attendance may be required.
b. Described below are the support services (for up to 90 days after case closing) the district will provide to individuals whose TA cases have closed due to employment: The district may provide the full array of supportive services to post employment individuals as indicated above. Childcare reimbursement is provided through the Daycare Unit in the DSS TA/SNAP unit.
Post-Employment/Transitional Supportive Services a. Described below are the supports and strategies the district will provide to support job retention: When individuals cases are closed due to excess income, a letter is mailed that outlines all available transitional services. This includes a Work Support Resource Guide that outlines services and resources available to ensure that they receive support needed to remain in the workforce and improve their financial well-being. Transitional daycare may be guaranteed up to 12 months after case closing if the working family earns 200% of the poverty level. Individuals are eligible to receive a bus pass for 6 months if they are engaged in Subsidized Employment. Caseworkers and Employment Counselors are available for case management services as needed.
b. Described below are the support services (for up to 90 days after case closing) the district will provide to individuals whose TA cases have closed due to employment: A TANF recipient is eligible to receive a bus pass for up to 90 days if their Temporary Assistance closes due to excess income. Clients are also provided case management and job retention services.
Post-Employment/Transitional Supportive Services a. Described below are the supports and strategies the district will provide to support job retention: The Employment Specialist will work directly with individuals who are employed and assist them with these services that will help them maintain employment. The agency finds job retention to be a critical component of the Employment Unit. The district informs the individual that once employment is found, they will be contacted periodically throughout their first 90 days of employment by the Employment Unit. The Employment Examiner will contact the client by phone 30 days after case closing regarding retention/issues with employment. If they are unable to connect by phone, a letter will be mailed with the contact information for the Employment Examiner and an explanation of why we are attempting to reach them. Any identified problems that the individual may be experiencing that could hinder their job retention will be discussed and available supportive services discussed. The client is made aware that they can contact their Employment Specialist at any time to seek assistance with problems they may be experiencing. The Specialist may complete a referral for supportive services, job coaching, financial literacy, etc. to assist the individual with maintaining their employment.
b. Described below are the support services (for up to 90 days after case closing) the district will provide to individuals whose TA cases have closed due to employment: - car repair and insurance to maintain employment - clothing (not to exceed $150.00 unless approved by the Chief Supervisor (or designee)) - any other reasonable request that would result in the continuation of employment and self-sufficiency
Post-Employment/Transitional Supportive Services a. Described below are the supports and strategies the district will provide to support job retention: MCDSS has built paid performance incentives for retention into all job placement and job development contracts to encourage placement contractors to provide case management and additional retention services including financial literacy, CASH services, etc. MCDSS works closely with Child Support Enforcement to help our families get the support in place to help transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. MCDSS utilizes TEAP to encourage employers to work with participants to achieve better outcomes. The Self Sufficiency Workgroup is equipped to intervene if an employee is struggling, before the client is terminated.
b. Described below are the support services (for up to 90 days after case closing) the district will provide to individuals whose TA cases have closed due to employment: MCDSS will determine eligibility for diversion payments during the 90 day period after case closing due to employment. If eligible, payments will be issued to prevent loss of employment or return to Temporary Assistance. MCDSS has also contracted for an aftercare program "Paths to Empowerment" will link individuals closed for excess income to resources and assistance in the community for 6 months. These services can be but are not limited to-financial literacy education, transportation assistance, rental assistance, basic life skills education.
Post-Employment/Transitional Supportive Services a. Described below are the supports and strategies the district will provide to support job retention: Transportation- District will provide assistance for up to three months for TANF eligible households and one month for non- TANF households after case closing for transportation costs. This can be in the form of a bus pass or mileage expenses at the IRS Medical/Moving rate.
b. Described below are the support services (for up to 90 days after case closing) the district will provide to individuals whose TA cases have closed due to employment: Transportation- District will provide assistance for up to three months for TANF eligible households and one month for non- TANF households after case closing for transportation costs. This can be in the form or a bus pass or mileage expenses at the IRS Medical/Moving rate.
Post-Employment/Transitional Supportive Services a. Described below are the supports and strategies the district will provide to support job retention: OJT, job development and job coaching with the caseworker will provide early intervention to identify any problems on the job.
b. Described below are the support services (for up to 90 days after case closing) the district will provide to individuals whose TA cases have closed due to employment: To the extent Federal, State and Local resources are available, BCDSS will provide supportive services deemed necessary and reasonable to assist employed Temporary Assistance recipients improve their self - sufficiency opportunities. This will be accomplished by referral for separate determination of eligibility for transitional medical/childcare services. Supportive services as outlined in attached Supportive Services Desk Guide will be provided as requested.
Post-Employment/Transitional Supportive Services a. Described below are the supports and strategies the district will provide to support job retention: Transportation assistance will be provided, as needed, for as long as the individual remains employed and on Temporary Assistance, provided the individual lives more than one mile or 10 blocks from the place of employment. Transitional transportation assistance will be subject to all other provisions in Section 7.1.b.
b. Described below are the support services (for up to 90 days after case closing) the district will provide to individuals whose TA cases have closed due to employment:
1. Assistance with the cost of car repairs and/or insurance will be provided upon request, subject to the restrictions stated in Section 7.1.b.
2. Training and work-related expenses will be provided for any expenses required for employment, including but not limited to: clothing: uniforms, work clothing, specialty items equipment: specialty tools or equipment licensing: licensing or testing fees
3. Lyft rides for employed jobseekers who cannot be accommodated by the bus service, and do not have access to other means of transportation. All requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis as to the relevance to retaining employment. Evaluation criteria include, but are not limited to: alternative sources of funding or service; whether other resources are exhausted; estimates from one or more providers of service or material; whether the requested item/service is required or optional; and whether the amount of the request is commensurate with the need.
