Professional Development Committee (PDC). Purpose: The PDC will work with Administration to research, plan and evaluate professional development offerings in order to provide high quality, effective and meaningful professional learning to all staff members. Structure: Committee membership will be comprised of a minimum of three (3) Union representatives [one (1) from each of three (3) grade levels], one (1) ETC Executive Officer, the Assistant Superintendent of Learning and Teaching, the Professional Growth Coordinator and any other members of the ETC, Administration and the Elmhurst PSRPs Council membership who wish to participate.

Professional Development Committee (PDC) a. The members of the Southern Berkshire Education Association and the Southern Berkshire School Committee believe it is in the best interest of the Southern Berkshire Public Schools Community for the professional staff, paraprofessional staff, and administration to work collaboratively in order to determine activities that best reflect the needs of individual teachers/paraprofessionals, the instructional needs of the students, and areas of need as identified in the school and district improvement plans and other measures of school and district effectiveness.
Professional Development Committee (PDC). Membership comprised of two (2) teachers from each building and one (1) administrator totaling five (5) for a two-year period. After the initial year of implementation each building will elect one teacher to replace the outgoing member. Administrators may alternate every two-year period. Professional Development points may be used to advance from the degree earned to degrees plus 10, 20, 30 + . (20 PDC points = 1 college hour). Approval by the committee shall be based upon the subjective opinion as to whether such hours will be beneficial to the teacher or directly related to the teacher’s area of work. Committee chair shall be added to the extra duty/extra pay schedule at 2 percent of salary, while other members are to receive 1 percent salary.

  • Professional Development Committee There shall be a Professional Development Committee composed of two (2) members of the Association one of whom shall be the Bargaining Unit President or designate and two (2) representatives of the Hospital one of whom shall be the Chief Nursing Officer or designate and one human resources representative.

  • Professional Development Funds 23.1.1 Two Professional Development Funds, a Professional Development Support Fund and an Education Leave Fund, shall be established to support professional development activities as defined in 23.2. On April 1st of each year, the College will allocate an amount equal to no less than 0.9% of total faculty salary (exclusive of severance payments) to the Professional Development Support Fund, and an amount equal to no less than 0.6% of total faculty salary to the Educational Leave Fund. As a self-regulating profession, nursing recognizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic practice environment which includes ongoing learning, the maintenance of competence, career development, career counselling and succession planning. The parties agree that professional development includes a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to formal academic programs; short-term continuing education activities; certification programs; independent learning committee participation. The parties recognize their joint responsibility in and commitment to active participation in the area of professional development.

  • Professional Development Leave A. Policy. Professional development leave shall be made available to employees who meet the requirements set forth below. Such leaves are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, educational travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.

  • Professional Development Day The Employees shall be entitled to spend three (3) working days with pay for the purpose of doing research and preparation related to their work at a date mutually acceptable to the Employer and the Employee.
