Professional Growth Days. In addition to the one hundred and eighty-five (185) days of the regular teaching year, Members of the bargaining unit will have the opportunity to work additional days for professional growth and student recruitment, to be paid at the daily rate of the Member's base rate for that contract year pursuant to the following guidelines:

Professional Growth Days. Two non-student work days per year shall be designated as Professional Growth Days. These days shall occur in September and January. All PSEA Unit members shall be required to attend the designated Professional Growth Days. Activities for these days shall be developed by the Professional Learning Advisory Board (14.19.2).
Professional Growth Days. In the belief that attendance at conferences, workshops, conventions, and visitation to other systems or schools is desirable to maintain and improve professional competence and proficiency, and enhance the educational program of the school district, teachers shall be encouraged to participate in such meetings. Teachers will request permission to attend the aforementioned functions as early as possible. Authorization to attend is subject to availability of budgetary funds and will be recommended to the Superintendent by the Principal based upon the recommendation of an appropriate teachers’ committee appointed by the Principal.
