PROTECTION OF EMPLOYEES AND PROPERTY. A. The Board of Education shall carry an insurance policy to provide Workers Compensation for any supervisor who is injured while in performance of his/her duties.
B. The Board of Education shall carry liability insurance to protect all supervisors in court suits arising out of the performance of office or duties.
C. The Board shall endeavor to protect the supervisors, students and property from physical injury and shall endeavor to do everything within its power and means to do so to assure safe conditions in the schools, and in school buses.
D. In the event of litigation, civil or criminal, the Board will extend to its professionals all of the protection afforded by the Statutes of the State of New Jersey.
PROTECTION OF EMPLOYEES AND PROPERTY. The SPS shall attempt to provide healthful working conditions for its employees consistent with Federal, State and local laws and their rules and regulations. Employees shall not be required to work under conditions known to be unsafe or hazardous or to perform tasks which endanger their health, safety or well being. The SPS will call upon other agencies (such as police, the courts, and social agencies) to help preserve the health and safety of all persons involved in a school situation. To attain these goals, the SPS agrees to the following provisions:
1. Preservation of Order in the Schools
a. An employee is authorized to use force, but no more force than shall be necessary, upon or toward a student or other person on or around school premises whenever such employee is about to be injured, or when the employee lawfully comes to the aid of another about to be injured, or to prevent a malicious trespass, or other malicious interference with that real or personal property which lawfully is in his/her possession, in the possession of another employee or student, or upon school premises.
b. The SPS shall give priority consideration to the utilization of appropriate security personnel at functions such as athletic events, school plays, concerts and other school functions, to maintain discipline and order.

PROTECTION OF EMPLOYEES AND PROPERTY. A. Employees shall not be required to work under unsafe or hazardous conditions or to perform tasks which endanger their health, safety, or well-being, the Board reserving the right to determine what is an unsafe or hazardous condition.
B. Assault/Injury
1. Employees shall immediately report cases of injury or assault suffered by them in connection with their employment to their principal or other immediate supervisor.
2. Employees shall fill out an accident report form and a Workers Compensation claim form to be submitted to the Human Resources Office.
3. Employees shall report to the nurse for medical evaluation.
C. The Board shall reimburse an employee for damage to his/her clothing or other personal property (not otherwise covered by insurance) in excess of $25.00, based on depreciation value, sustained as the result of an unprovoked assault while acting within the scope of his/her employment. Such reimbursement shall cover loss due to vandalism to said property which is kept in his/her classroom or other authorized location.
PROTECTION OF EMPLOYEES AND PROPERTY. 5:1 The District and the Association agree that effective means for the protection of employees and property are essential to the smooth functioning of the District. Employees shall report in writing except in cases of an emergency all unsafe or hazardous conditions to the Transportation Supervisor who shall, as quickly as possible after investigation and evaluation, take appropriate action to remedy the condition. The Transportation Supervisor shall provide in writing to the reporting employee the action taken.
5:2 The District shall take reasonable precaution to provide protection for an employee's vehicle while parked on District property.
5:3 The District agrees to hold employees harmless to at least the levels set forth in the Liability Coverage Plan as adopted by the Board.
5:4 Mechanical malfunctions not corrected within a reasonable time shall be reported to the Supervisor of Transportation. Mechanical malfunctions must be reported on the designated District form. Employees shall be given reasons for the delay of repairs.
5:5 In emergency situations and to the extent allowable by Law, each driver may, within the scope of his/her employment, use and apply such amount of force as is reasonable and necessary to quell a disturbance threatening immediate physical injury to himself/herself and others or the destruction of property. 5:6 Any complaints about an employee from parents, students and other employees shall be investigated and brought to the attention of the employee as soon as possible (Does not require forty-eight (48) hour notice). Any complaint not brought to the attention of the employee shall not be used later in any action against the employee or in the employee's evaluation.
PROTECTION OF EMPLOYEES AND PROPERTY. The District or its insurer shall reimburse an employee for any certified loss of or damage to personal property necessarily used in the course of duty or in transporting him/her to or from his/her place of assignment when such loss or damage is willfully and maliciously inflicted by students or persons known or unknown on District premises or while the employee is on duty, subject to the following conditions:
A. The District shall reimburse first-dollar losses up to the limit of the employee's insurance deductible not to exceed five hundred ($500) dollars.
B. There shall be no reimbursement for loss of cash.
C. The use of personal equipment at work must have the prior approval of the supervisor, and a current inventory must be on file.
D. There must be proof submitted that the employee either has no insurance or that his/her insurance does not cover the damage or loss in question. An employee must exhaust his/her own insurance recovery possibilities before being eligible for reimbursement under this Article.
E. A Notice of Loss and Claim Reimbursement Form must be filed with the District’s General Counsel’s Office within twenty (20) days after the damage or loss occurs.

PROTECTION OF EMPLOYEES AND PROPERTY. 14:1 The Board of Education and the Xxxxxxxx Township School Secretaries’ Association recognize their responsibilities as defined in the following State Statutes: 18A: 16-6; 18A: 16-6.1; 18A: 25-2; 18A: 30-2.1.
14:2 The Board shall reimburse employees for the reasonable cost of any clothing or other personal property damaged or destroyed on the person of the employee as a result of an assault suffered by the employee while the employee was acting in the discharge of his/her duties.
14:3 Employees shall immediately report cases of assault suffered by them in connection with their employment to their principal or his/her designated representative.
PROTECTION OF EMPLOYEES AND PROPERTY. The District shall provide employees with insurance protection as is required by RCW 28A.400.370. Upon request the District will provide employees with a written summary of the coverage they have under the provisions of district insurance policies.
