Hazardous Duty. The Union, and not any individual employee, shall upon request be granted a hearing by the Office of Labor Relations concerning a claim for hazardous or unpleasant duty pay differential. Disputes under this section shall not be subject to the Grievance and Arbitration Article. The hourly pay differential which was established for certain designated job assignments or working conditions in the
Hazardous Duty. The Union, and not any individual employee, shall upon request, be granted a hearing by the Director of Labor Relations or his/her designee concerning a claim for hazardous or unpleasant duty pay differential . In considering whether an employee should be granted such differential, the Trier of fact must consider factors such as whether the unpleasant task or tasks were taken into consideration when the job was evaluated and whether said unpleasant duty or duties are contemplated within the job specification. If the answer is yes, then no additional compensation is warranted . It is herein determined that where the decision is to provide the differential, said shift differential will be paid for hours worked in the hazardous or unpleasant duty at a rate of $.50 per hour. The Office of Labor Relations will retain an official record of such designated individual situation.
Hazardous Duty. Employees in the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction hired prior July 1, 1997 shall receive an additional Hazardous Duty Pay Supplement of three percent (3%). However, upon assignment to step 11 of the salary schedule, employees of the department cease to receive the Hazardous Duty Pay Supplement. Employees hired into the Department after July 1, 1997 shall not be eligible for the three percent (3%) Hazardous Duty Pay Supplement.
Hazardous Duty. Employees shall not be disciplined for refusing to work under hazardous, dangerous, or unhealthful conditions not normally associated with their occupation provided the employees immediately notify Authority management of the condition.
Hazardous Duty. No bargaining unit Employee, without his/ her express permission, shall be required to work or come in contact with, or be in unreasonable proximity to, any hazardous liquid, chemical, gas, explosives, radioactive material, or vapor, unless the presence or use of such liquid, chemical, gas, explosives, radioactive material, or vapor is normal in the performance of his/her duties. The Employer shall provide Employees with proper training and information on hazardous material and the risks of injury from hostile clients or residents.
Hazardous Duty. A. The City shall abide by all OSHA, CAL-OSHA and all other applicable federal and state codes relating to employee safety while on the job.
B. No employee will be disciplined for reasonably refusing to perform an unsafe act or job.
C. Upon the request of the Union, the City’s Safety Officer shall make a copy of all applicable safety rules and regulations available to the Union.
D. The City agrees to provide to the Union copies of any changes in written policies related to employee safety within ten (10) working days of the effective date of the change. Copies may be provided sixty (60) days prior to the effective date of the changes when it is practical and feasible to do so.
E. Within the guidelines of federal, state and City safety regulations and operational requirements, the City agrees to make reasonable accommodations for currently bearded employees in assignments designated as “respirator needed.”
Hazardous Duty. If an Employee is requested to undertake work that would invalidate the Employee’s personal insurance policy, the Employee will immediately inform Employer and Employer shall indemnify the Employee and Employee’s dependants against any invalidation of the policy. Provided that Employer may decline to invalidate such policy by written advice to the Employee, in which case the Employee may decline to undertake the work concerned.
Hazardous Duty. The Company shall continue in effect, for all employees when engaged in hazardous duty for the Company, income continuation insurance that pays to an employee injured or disabled while engaged in hazardous duty for the Company 70% of his/her salary, but not exceeding $600.00 a week, for a maximum of 52 weeks, such payment to begin with the first day of injury and to be without a waiting period. The above income continuation insurance shall be in addition to all other insurance or other benefits derived from this contract. The combined payments may not exceed the employee’s salary, but will be independent of and have no effect on the employee’s sick leave bank, if any.

Hazardous Duty. The Union, and not any individual employee, shall be granted upon request a hearing concerning a claim for hazardous duty pay differential for work hazards which may be beyond the scope of duties inherent in the job. Said hearing shall be before a panel composed of one (1) personnel analyst and one (1) agency personnel administrator or officer, both of whom shall be selected by the Undersecretary of the Office of Labor Relations, and one (I) designee of the Union. Disputes under this Section shall, not be subject to the grievance and arbitration provisions of this Agreement.
