Provincial Negotiating Committee. (a) In the event that a Nurse is a member of the Provincial Negotiating Committee (“PNC”), the Employer will make every reasonable effort to accommodate time off for the Nurse to participate in Union caucus meetings and direct negotiations with any multiple employer group bargaining table, subject to operational requirements. (b) At the request of the Nova Scotia Nurses’ Union, the Employer will maintain pay at the regular rates and benefit coverage for a member of the PNC and the Employer will invoice the Nova Scotia Nurses’ Union for all such costs, unless a cost sharing arrangement is agreed to by the Employer(s) and the Union.

Provincial Negotiating Committee. (a) In the event a Nurse is a member of the PNC, the Employer of the individual PNC member shall grant a leave of absence for time spent in PNC caucus meetings and in direct negotiations with any Employer, subject to operational requirements such as the Employer’s ability to obtain a replacement and at no additional cost in premium pay. (b) When the PNC member is participating in direct negotiations with any Acute Care employer, the Employer will continue pay and benefits for shifts absent during such direct negotiations. (c) At the request of the NSNU, the Employer will maintain regular rates and benefit coverage for members of the PNC and will invoice the NSNU for such costs while the PNC member is engaged in Union caucus meetings and in direct negotiations with Employers other than Acute Care Employers.

Provincial Negotiating Committee. (a) Inthe event that a Nurse is a member of the Provincial Negotiating Committee ("PNC"), if there is no additional cost to the Employer, the Employer will make reasonable efforts to accommodate time off for the Nurse to participate in Union caucus meetings and direct negotiations with any multiple employer group bargaining table. A minimum of four (4) weeks written notice will be given where reasonably practicable. (b) At the request of the Union, the Employer will maintain pay at the regular rates and benefit coverage for a member of the PNC and the Employer will invoice the Union for all such costs, unless a cost sharing arrangement is agreed to by the Employer(s) and the Union. The Union shall pay the invoice within thirty (30) days of its receipt.
Provincial Negotiating Committee. (a) Subject to operational requirements, the VON shall grant special leave for up to six (6) Nurses for the purpose of attending contract negotiations with the VON on behalf of the Union. In the event that a Nurse is to participate as a member of the Provincial Negotiating Committee ("PNC"), the Nurse shall normally provide not less than four (4) weeks advance notice to the Employer of the need to be absent from work for caucus meetings and for direct negotiation meetings with any related employer. (b) In the event a Nurse is a member of the PNC, the Employer shall grant a leave of absence for time spent in PNC caucus meetings and in direct negotiations with any Employer, subject to operational requirements such as the Employer's ability to obtain a replacement and at no additional cost in premium pay. (c) When the PNC member is participating in direct negotiations with the VON the Employer will continue pay and benefits for shifts absent during such direct negotiations. (d) At the written request of the Nova Scotia Nurses' Union, the Employer will maintain regular bi-weekly pay and benefits for shifts not worked for a member of the PNC. The Employer will subsequently invoice the Nova Scotia Nurses' Union for such costs for PNC meetings in accordance with the reimbursement formula as set out in Article 7.10.

  • Local Negotiating Committee (a) A negotiating committee of four (4) employee representatives appointed by the union including the bargaining unit president. (b) The Employer shall pay representatives of the Negotiating Committee their respective salaries for all time lost from regularly scheduled hours negotiating the Collective Agreement and renewals thereof, up to and including conciliation and mediation. It is agreed that the employer is not responsible for accommodation, parking, transportation and food costs associated with the employee’s participation in bargaining. Mileage allowance provisions will remain status quo at all LHINs.

  • Union Negotiating Committee Leave of absence shall be granted to not more than seven (7) employee representatives selected to negotiate the renewal of the Collective Agreement for necessary time off including travel time, direct negotiating time, and necessary preparation time. The Union shall reimburse the College for all pay during such leave except for the days scheduled by the parties for direct negotiations and up to a maximum of ten (10) days if required, for meetings of the Union Negotiating Committee to prepare for and to complete bargaining.

  • Negotiating Committee The Hospital agrees to recognize a Negotiating Committee comprised of representatives of the Association for the purpose of negotiating a renewal agreement. The number of nurses on the Negotiating Committee is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. The Hospital agrees to pay members of the Negotiating Committee for time spent during regular working hours in negotiations with the Hospital for a renewal agreement up to, but not including, arbitration.

  • Central Bargaining Committee (a) In central bargaining between the Canadian Union of Public Employees and the participating hospitals, an employee serving on the Union's Central Negotiating Committee shall be paid for time lost from his normal straight time working hours at his regular rate of pay and without loss of leave credits for attending central negotiating meetings with the Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee in direct negotiations up to the point of arbitration. In addition, an employee serving on the Union’s Central Negotiating Committee shall be paid for time lost from his normal straight time working hours at his regular rate of pay and without loss of leave credits for two (2) days of preparation time for such central negotiating meetings with the Hospital’s Central negotiating Committee. Upon reference to arbitration, the Negotiating Committee members shall receive unpaid time off for the purpose of attending arbitration hearings. It is understood and agreed that the maximum number of Union Central Negotiating Committee members entitled to payment under this provision shall be eight (8), and in no case will more than one employee from a hospital be entitled to such payment. The Union shall advise the Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee, before negotiations commence, of those employees to be paid under this provision. The Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee shall advise the eight (8) Hospitals accordingly. (b) Vice-Presidents of the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions shall be granted leave of absence by their employers in accordance with (a) above or Article 12.02 as the case may be, in order to fulfil the duties of their position.

  • Joint Safety Committee (a) The Union and the Company shall cooperate in selecting one or more Safety Committees, which will meet at least once a month to consider all safety and occupational health problems. (b) The local Joint Safety Committee shall consist of equal representation from Company and Union. This Committee shall meet at least once a month to consider all safety and occupational health problems.

  • CENTRAL LABOUR RELATIONS COMMITTEE C4.1 OPSBA, the Crown and OSSTF agree to establish a joint Central Labour Relations Committee to promote and facilitate communication between rounds of bargaining on issues of joint interest.

  • JOINT LABOUR MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE A Joint Labour Management Committee shall be established to attend to those matters which are of mutual interest. To ensure its effectiveness the Committee shall be separate and apart from the grievance procedure.

  • Negotiations Committee At all negotiations meetings with the Employer representatives for a renewal of this Agreement, the Union may be represented by a negotiations committee composed of five (5) bargaining unit members. No deduction from the regular pay of such Employees will be made for attendance at such meetings with the Employer’s representatives held during the Employee's regular working hours. The Union has the right to have up to an additional five (5) members, including Union Officers, on the Negotiating Committee at no cost to the Employer.

  • Bargaining Committee A bargaining committee of no more than three (3) employees and one (1) alternate may be selected by the Union.

  • Training Committee The parties to this Agreement may form a Training Committee. The Training Committee will be constituted by equal numbers of Employer nominees and ETU employee representatives and have a charter which clearly states its role and responsibilities. It shall monitor the clauses of this Agreement which relate to training and ensure all employees have equal access to training.
