Released Time for Union Officers. Upon written advance notice to the Superintendent or designee of at least five (5) working days, a leave of absence shall be granted to Union officer(s) for up to two (2) days to attend the Union convention, provided the Union shall promptly reimburse the Board for the cost of any substitute for the teacher(s) granted such leave. The Union President shall be released from supervisory duty during each school year to engage in activities related to union duties. These duties will include meetings between the Superintendent and/or designee and the Union President held at a minimum of once each month. In the event the Union President is not a classroom teacher, that individual may engage in activities related to union duties not to exceed the equivalent of fifty (50) minutes per day for one semester or twenty-five (25) minutes per day for the school year. The Union President or designee shall be granted released time to attend any grievance or arbitration hearing conducted during the normal teacher workday.

Released Time for Union Officers. The Union officers and senators shall be granted total collective leave up to twelve (12) days with pay to attend national or state Union meetings, or to conduct other Union business which could not otherwise be accomplished outside the school day, but no more than nine (9) of which may be used by the same individual officer. The Board shall assume no cost with respect to such attendance. Except in the case of emergency, notice for such leave shall be given to the Superintendent or designee at least five (5) teacher employment days in advance of the commencement of such leave. A Union officer shall, upon request, be granted a two (2) year leave of absence without pay in order to serve in Union office and/or to serve in the employ of the Union on a full-time basis. Such leave may be renewed thereafter on a year-to-year basis at the sole discretion of the Board.
Released Time for Union Officers. Union officers and/or elected or appointed representatives shall be granted professional leave, without loss of pay, up to a maximum of fifteen (15) days per school year in total to attend national and/or state organization meetings and/or to attend to Union business. The scheduling of the first ten (10) days each year shall be at the discretion of the Union president. The scheduling of the remaining five (5) days per year shall be by mutual agreement between the Union President and the Superintendent. The Union shall be responsible for all costs relative to attendance at such meetings. The Union shall pay to the District the actual cost of substitutes hired. The Union President shall have no supervisory assignment, shall teach no more than four (4) instructional periods per day, and shall be released from all teaching assignments during periods seven (7) and eight (8). Elected or designated Union members may engage in Union activities directly relating to the Union’s duties as representative of the employees during the school day, without loss of pay, provided such activities do not infringe upon the membersassigned duties or the duties of any other employee.

  • EMPLOYER AND UNION TO ACQUAINT NEW EMPLOYEES ‌ (a) At the time of hire new employees will be advised that a collective agreement is in effect and of the conditions of employment set out in the articles dealing with Union Security and Dues Check-off. (b) A new employee shall also be provided with: (1) the name, location and work telephone number of the xxxxxxx; and (2) an authorization form for union dues check-off. (c) Upon request, the xxxxxxx shall be advised of the name, location and work telephone number of the new employee. (e) The Union will provide the Employer with an up-to-date list of stewards' names, work locations and work telephone numbers in order that the Employer may meet its obligation in (b)(1) above. (f) The Union will be provided with a copy of the completed and signed authorization form for dues check-off for all new employees.

  • Union Officials 1. The Union will notify the Company in writing of the election, appointment, or removal of Union shop xxxxxxx(s). The District Lodge will notify the Company in writing of the Committee members at that location. 2. Effective upon the Date of Signing of this Agreement, the Company will assume the cost of a total of 150,000 hours of straight-time pay per year, to be used by shop stewards and other employees authorized by the Union for the purpose of administration of this Agreement and all other collective bargaining agreements between the Union and the Company. a. Shop stewards and other employees authorized by District Lodge 141 must give prior notice and report all time spent on Union business to the designated management representative. b. The Union will apportion the total annual allotment of 150,000 hours among the Company collective bargaining agreements it administers. In the event of an increase or reduction in the number of such agreements, the parties will meet to discuss and agree upon a proportionate adjustment in the hours allotment. 3. The parties will work with each other in good faith to ensure both that: (1) employees are reasonably represented in grievances and (2) the Company’s operation continues without undue delay. 4. The Union will provide the Company with the names, addresses, and phone numbers of its official Union Representatives. 5. The Company will provide the Union a reasonable amount of time as needed (not to exceed 2 hours) to participate in new-hire orientation for employees covered under this Agreement. 6. If requested by the Union and agreed to by the Company, Local Committeemen may be assigned to the Day Shift and to Saturday and Sunday as regular days off. In the event a significant dispute arises and remains unresolved it may be escalated to the level of AGC and HR at that station and, if not resolved, to the VP of Labor Relations and the President and Directing General Chairman.

  • Incorporators, Stockholders, Officers and Directors of Company Exempt from Individual Liability No recourse under or upon any obligation, covenant or agreement contained in this Indenture or any indenture supplemental hereto, or in any Security or any coupons appertaining thereto, or because of any indebtedness evidenced thereby, shall be had against any incorporator, as such or against any past, present or future stockholder, officer, director or employee, as such, of the Company or of any successor, either directly or through the Company or any successor, under any rule of law, statute or constitutional provision or by the enforcement of any assessment or by any legal or equitable proceeding or otherwise, all such liability being expressly waived and released by the acceptance of the Securities and the coupons appertaining thereto by the holders thereof and as part of the consideration for the issue of the Securities and the coupons appertaining thereto.

  • EMPLOYER AND UNION SHALL ACQUAINT NEW EMPLOYEES The Employer agrees to acquaint new employees with the fact that a Collective Agreement is in effect and with the conditions of employment set out in the Articles dealing with Union Security and Dues Check-off. The Employer agrees to provide the name, worksite phone number, and location of the new employee's xxxxxxx in the letter of hiring. Whenever the xxxxxxx is employed in the same work area as the new employee, the employee's immediate supervisor will introduce her to her xxxxxxx. The Employer agrees that a Union xxxxxxx will be given an opportunity to interview each new employee within regular working hours, without loss of pay, for thirty (30) minutes sometime during the first thirty (30) days of employment for the purpose of acquainting the new employee with the benefits and duties of Union membership and the employee's responsibilities and obligations to the Employer and the Union.

  • Transfer to Directors and Senior Officers (1) You may transfer escrow securities within escrow to existing or, upon their appointment, incoming directors or senior officers of the Issuer or any of its material operating subsidiaries, if the Issuer’s board of directors has approved the transfer. (2) Prior to the transfer the Escrow Agent must receive: (a) a certified copy of the resolution of the board of directors of the Issuer approving the transfer; (b) a certificate signed by a director or officer of the Issuer authorized to sign, stating that the transfer is to a director or senior officer of the Issuer or a material operating subsidiary and that any required approval from the Canadian exchange the Issuer is listed on has been received; (c) an acknowledgment in the form of Schedule “B” signed by the transferee; (d) copies of the letters sent to the securities regulators described in subsection (3) accompanying the acknowledgement; and (e) a transfer power of attorney, completed and executed by the transferor in accordance with the requirements of the Issuer’s transfer agent. (3) At least 10 days prior to the transfer, the Issuer will file a copy of the acknowledgement with the securities regulators in the jurisdictions in which it is a reporting issuer.
