Reporting Absence Due to Illness. 1. It shall be the responsibility of the Employee to report illness prior to the start of the regularly scheduled reporting time. If the Employee does not call in, he/she will be deducted one day's pay (or the number of days of absence).

Reporting Absence Due to Illness. Employees recognize the need of reporting absence due to illness or other reasons as far in advance as possible. Employees must notify their immediate supervisor or designate as far in advance of the start of their daily shift as possible. It is understood however, that the employee will not be penalized if he or she is legitimately ill, providing he or she reports prior to the start of the shift.
Reporting Absence Due to Illness. 1. An Employee is to report absence due to illness to the designated call-in number as soon as possible, and in any event not later than two (2) hours before the start of the regularly scheduled work period. If it is impossible to notify within this time frame, notification must be given within the first half hour of the scheduled work period. Failure to present an acceptable explanation of such impossibility to notify may result in loss of illness benefits.

Employees on an approved Family Medical Leave, may be authorized by their Supervisor to contact an approved designee as soon as possible and in any event, not later than thirty (30) minutes before the start of their regular scheduled work period.   • Reporting Absences (a) Employees are responsible to report to work on time on each scheduled work day.

  • Reporting Absence Staff who cannot report to work because of sickness or other reasons are expected to telephone within fifteen (15) minutes of their normal starting time, to advise their supervisor of the expected time of their return to work. Staff members who commence work at 16:00 hours or later will make every effort to inform their supervisor(s) of their pending absences as early in the day as possible, and no later than 12:00 hours for the 16:00 hour or 18:00 hour shifts, or 15:00 hours for the midnight shift. However, employees failing to provide notice as stipulated in this Article through circumstances beyond their control shall not be deemed to have violated any of the terms of this Agreement. Staff should inform their supervisor of the reason for their absence. In the event of illness, exact medical reasons need not be given.

  • REAPPOINTMENT AFTER ABSENCE DUE TO CHILDCARE a) Employees who resign to care for a dependent pre-school child or children may apply to their former employer for preferential appointment to a position which is substantially the same in character and at the same or lower grading as the position previously held.

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.

  • ABSENCE FROM DUTY Unless a provision of this agreement states otherwise (e.g. sick leave), an employee not attending for duty will lose their pay for the actual time of such non- attendance.

  • Approved Leave of Absence With Pay During Vacation When an employee is qualified for bereavement leave, sick leave or any other approved leave with pay during her vacation period, there shall be no deduction from the vacation credits for such leave. In the case of sick leave, this section shall only apply when the period of illness or injury is in excess of two (2) days and a note from a physician may be required. The period of vacation so displaced shall be taken at a mutually agreed time. An employee intending to claim displaced vacation leave must advise the Employer and provide necessary documentation within seven (7) days of returning to work.

  • Unexcused Absences Employees who are absent without approved leave (with the exception of emergencies) may be subject to discipline, up to and including discharge from employment.

  • Excused Absences Absences will be excused only under the following circumstances.

  • Excused Absence No later than the 8th consecutive day of a pupil’s absence, CONTRACTOR shall notify LEA of such absence. If CONTRACTOR fails to provide such notice by the 8th day of consecutive absence, CONTRACTOR shall not be compensated for services delivered during continuing absence after the 8th consecutive day of absence. The LEA shall not be responsible for payment for more than eight (8) cumulative days of excused absences in one semester unless a written time extension is granted by XXX. XXX shall not be responsible for payment for days of unexcused absences. All excused absences must be verified and a copy must be submitted to LEA with the monthly invoice. All documentation must be kept for at least five (5) years from the date of origination. Only the individuals listed below may verify the reason for absence:

  • ABSENCE FROM WORK AND REPORTING 18.01 If an employee is unable to report for work, she/he shall give the Employer a minimum of four (4) hours notice. In case of day shift work, this time element will be one and one-half (1½) hours for nursing and dietary, one (1) hour for all other departments, and one (1) hour for all shifts that commence before 7:00 a.m. If notice is not given within the required time, the employee shall not be entitled to her/his sick pay on the first (1st) day of illness.
