RIGHTS OF UNION OFFICIALS. With supervisory permission, employees who are Union representatives, stewards, witnesses, or grievants will be permitted time off with pay during their respective regular working hours to process and/or investigate grievances, attend hearings related to these grievances, and to attend contract negotiations (maximum of three bargaining unit employees) and to attend labor management meetings.

RIGHTS OF UNION OFFICIALS. Section 1. An employee who is elected or appointed to serve as a national or regional official representative of the Union shall be granted, upon request, leave without pay (LWOP) concurrent with the elected term of office or appointment. Each request by an employee for such LWOP shall be for a specified period and shall be certified by the national office of the Union. Section 3. The Union at the national level will provide 60 day written notice to the Employer at the corporate level that the need for LWOP granted under Section 1 of this Article has ended. In this instance, the procedures contained in Section 2 of this Article will apply.

If the employee is unable to return to that facility, the Parties at the national and corporate levels will meet to determine an appropriate return-to-duty location, at any of the Employer's air traffic control towers where NATCA is the exclusive representative, if a bargaining unit position is available. Section 3. The Union at the national level will provide 60 day written notice to the Employer at the corporate level that the need for LWOP granted under Section 1 of this Article has ended. The aims of cooperation on forestry matters and environmental protection will be, but not limited to, as follows: (a) establishing bilateral cooperation relations in the forestry sector; (b) developing a training program and studies for sustainable management of forests; (c) improving the rehabilitation and sustainable management of forest with the aim of increasing carbon sinks and reduce the impact of climate change in the Asia-Pacific region; (d) cooperating on the execution of national projects, aimed at: improving the management of forest plantations for its transformation for industrial purposes and environmental protection; (e) elaborating studies on sustainable use of timber; (f) developing new technologies for the transformation and processing of timber and non-timber species; and (g) improving cooperation in agro-forestry technologies. 2. To achieve the objectives of the Article 149 (Objectives), the Parties may focus, as a means of cooperation and negotiations on concluding a bilateral agreement on forestry cooperation between the two Parties. Such collaboration will be as follows: (a) exchanges on science and technology as well as policies and laws relating the sustainable use of forest resources; (b) cooperation in training programs, internships, exchange of experts and projects advisory; (c) advice and technical assistance to public institutions and organizations of the Parties on sustainable use of forest resources and environmental protection; (d) facilitating forest policy dialogue and technical cooperation under the Network of Sustainable Forest Management and Forest Rehabilitation in Asia- Pacific Region, initiated at the 15th Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Meeting; (e) encouraging joint studies, working visits, exchange of experiences, among others; and (f) others activities mutually agreed.

  • Special Rules Regarding Related Entities and Branches That Are Nonparticipating Financial Institutions If a Finnish Financial Institution, that otherwise meets the requirements described in paragraph 1 of this Article or is described in paragraph 3 or 4 of this Article, has a Related Entity or branch that operates in a jurisdiction that prevents such Related Entity or branch from fulfilling the requirements of a participating FFI or deemed-compliant FFI for purposes of section 1471 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code or has a Related Entity or branch that is treated as a Nonparticipating Financial Institution solely due to the expiration of the transitional rule for limited FFIs and limited branches under relevant U.S. Treasury Regulations, such Finnish Financial Institution shall continue to be in compliance with the terms of this Agreement and shall continue to be treated as a deemed- compliant FFI or exempt beneficial owner, as appropriate, for purposes of section 1471 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, provided that:

In the event the duties require the xxxxxxx leave the work area and enter another area within the installation or post office, the xxxxxxx must also receive permission from the supervisor from the other area he/she wishes to enter and such request shall not be unreasonably denied. The xxxxxxx, chief xxxxxxx or other Union representative prop- erly certified in accordance with Section 2 above may request and shall obtain access through the appropriate supervisor to review the documents, files and other records necessary for processing a grievance or determining if a grievance exists and shall have the right to interview the aggrieved employee(s), supervisors and witnesses during working hours. All polygraph tests will continue to be on a voluntary basis.

  • Union Officers Employees hereafter elected or appointed to full­ time Union office shall be granted a leave of absence without loss of sen­ iority but without accumulating seniority during the period of the leave of absence.

  • Department of Health and Human Services An employee notified of a positive controlled substance or alcohol test result may request an independent test of their split sample at the employee’s expense. If the test result is negative, the Employer will reimburse the employee for the cost of the split sample test. An employee who has a positive alcohol test and/or a positive controlled substance test may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, based on the incident that prompted the testing, including a violation of the drug and alcohol free work place rules.
