Sergeant. Twenty percent (20%) over the top step hourly rate for Sergeant when acting as a supervisor (otherwise twenty percent (20%) over the top step hourly rate for Police Officer).

Sergeant. As used in this Agreement, the term "Sergeant" means a member of the bargaining unit as described in the recognition provision.
Sergeant. Effective January 1, 2008, Sergeant/Detective to be paid as a percentage of the appropriate First Class Constable rate as follows: Year 1 – 109.5% of First Class Constable rate. Year 2 – 112.5% of First Class Constable rate. Sergeant pay shall form part of base salary and shall be paid bi-weekly. It shall be included as salary in calculating overtime, vacation and statutory holiday pay, and pension contributions.

Sergeant. Any sergeant-level vacancy which the Employer intends to fill may be filled by a reassignment. However, if the Employer does not fill the vacancy by reassignment, the vacancy shall be filled first by a transfer (and not a promotion or other personnel move). Thereafter (or in the event that no sergeant has requested a transfer to this location), the Employer may then fill the new vacancy created by this transfer, in its discretion, by promotion, demotion, transfer, reassignment, return from leave of absence, or reinstatement. Any sergeant-level vacancy created by filling the latter vacancy other than one caused by the Employer's use of the transfer process shall be treated as a new vacancy for purposes of this Section if the Employer intends to fill it.
Sergeant. To be qualified to receive promotional consideration for the rank of Sergeant, a Police Officer must have at least five (5) years of service as a full-time Police Officer at the time the posting period is closed. At least three (3) of the five (5) years of service must be in a patrol assignment with the Gahanna Division of Police. Members assigned to the Detective Bureau as of January 1, 2019 must have at least thirty (30) months of service in a patrol assignment to be qualified to receive promotional consideration for the rank of sergeant.
