Detective Bureau. Seniority will be followed through each unit. The Union will be responsible for implementing and conducting the call in procedures with the approval of the Employer, which shall not be unreasonably denied.
Detective Bureau. Assist Detectives in those cases that do not require physical activity beyond light-duty capacity.
Detective Bureau. Officers regularly assigned to the Detective Bureau shall receive extra compensation at the rate of $1,500 per year.
Detective Bureau. The members of the Detective Bureau covered by this Agreement will work four (4) consecutive ten (10) hour shifts and have three (3) days off each week, subject to rescheduling by the Chief in a week where the Detective is scheduled to appear subject to a subpoena. Members will select their shift assignments and vacation bids based on seniority as an investigator, with all such time while serving as an investigator with the Police Department counting toward seniority. The members will have a 50-minute paid meal break and two (2) 10-minute paid "coffee" breaks during their shift.
Detective Bureau. The County and the Sheriff agree that within the Midland County Sheriff’s Office there may be an investigative unit referred to as the Detective Bureau. The Sheriff agrees that Detectives assigned to the Detective Bureau shall conduct criminal investigations.
Detective Bureau. All sworn Employees of the CID shall work a 42- hour week schedule, with work hours between 0700 hours and 2400 hours.
(a) Detectives assigned to jail duty must begin work between the hours of 0700 and 0900. Detectives on jail duty that are working the 10-1/2 hour shift must find another Detective to perform jail duty work on their scheduled day off and this change must be noted on the weekly schedule.
(b) Detectives and Polygraph Examiners agree not to schedule a day off if they have a subpoena, other scheduled meetings, training sessions, or events that would create overtime or comp time.
(c) When selecting 10-1/2 hour shifts, Detectives have a designated day off, either Monday or Friday. The Detective may elect to take Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday off instead of the designated day off, but may not trade Monday for Friday or vice versa, without the approval of CID Command, unless the Monday or Friday is a holiday.
(d) One Detective each week is designated on the schedule to attend the City Commission meeting. That Detective must schedule himself/herself to work up until 2200 hours. If the Detective that is scheduled to cover the City Commission meeting is going to be absent from work, he/she will notify CID Command prior to the posting of the schedule. The least Senior Detective scheduled to work will then be required to adjust his/her hours of work and attend the City Commission meeting, if no volunteers are found. If no Detective is scheduled to attend the City Commission meeting the least Senior Detective that is working will be required to adjust his/her hours of work and attend, if no volunteers are found.
(e) Detectives agree and understand that they may be required to attend neighborhood meetings. Detectives agree that their work schedule will be adjusted to prevent overtime when attending these meetings.
Detective Bureau. 43.1 Detectives will be on call on a one (1) week rotating basis. When a detective is on call for their assigned week, they will receive sixteen (16) hours of administrative time as compensation for being on call for one (1) week. Such time shall be taken as straight compensatory time or bought out at straight time. Detectives who are assigned on call status will be required to report on duty when called in a timely manner. When a detective is assigned on call duty for the week, they will be able to drive their assigned work car to and from work and for call back purposes.
44.1 Police Officers, while performing the duties of Field Training Officer (FTO), will be compensated at three (3) hours of straight administrative time (straight comp time) for each training day that is spent training a probationary officer in a training phase and for each training day that is spent training an officer returning from a special assignment. Any days where less than twelve (12) hours is spent training by the FTO in a training phase, shall be compensated as follows: 4 completed hours of training – 1 hour straight comp time 8 completed hours of training – 2 hours straight comp time 12 completed hours of training – 3 hours straight comp time The Employer shall schedule the shift of probationary officers in the FTO program in its sole and exclusive discretion.
44.2: Public Safety Service Officers, while performing the duties of Communications Training Officer (CTO), will be compensated at one and a half (1 ½ ) hours of straight administrative time for each training day that is spent training a new PSSO in a training phase. Such time shall be taken as straight compensatory time or bought out at straight time.
Detective Bureau. 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. 1:45 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The Chief may adjust scheduled shift start or end times for bi-annual training, quarterly FAM Fire training, and other training that cannot be completed during normal shift hours. The officers will be provided with a minimum of 30 days’ notice.
Detective Bureau. Command assigned to the Detective’s Bureau that are required to be “on-call” on a rotational basis will receive an additional daily stipend, calculated at the rate of one (1) additional hour per each day that they are required to be on-call.
Detective Bureau. The workweek for Detectives is recognized as being flexible based on necessity. Therefore the following is subject to adjustment. The work week is currently a five (5) day, eight (8) hour schedule with the following shift: Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 0800 hrs. - 1600 hrs.
