- Sergeants' Overtime. Sergeants shall be paid one and one-half (1-1/2) times their regular hourly rate of pay for all hours worked beyond forty (40) for Sergeants assigned to a ten (10) hour shift; or forty (40) for Sergeants assigned to an eight (8) hour shift, which may occur in their seven (7) day work departmental work schedule. Hours determined at the conclusion will be compensated for on the pay period immediately following the end of the (7) day work schedule. Sergeants may elect to accrue compensatory time in lieu of a cash payment for overtime at the Sergeant's discretion. Compensatory time shall be accrued at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) hours for each compensatory hour earned and shall be subject to the limitations outlined in Section 10.6.

- Sergeants' Overtime. Effective immediately, in the event of a shift shortage, created by the absence of a uniform sergeant, the following procedure will be followed. Uniformed sergeants will be pulled for overtime duty from a rotational list. The list will begin with the most senior uniformed sergeant and will descend on a basis of seniority. The sergeants overtime list will be maintained at dispatch. The senior sergeant will rotate to the bottom of the list after having either worked the overtime in question or declining same. This rotation will be continual. Should a sergeant not be available due to illness or vacation his/her position on the list shall not be rotated. For the purposes of this section, messages left on telephone answering machines will be allowed a fifteen minute response time. When no response is received from a message left on an answering machine within the time allotted, the next name on the list will be contacted. In the event that there is no available uniform sergeant to fill the above described shortage, the shortage will be filled by utilizing the patrolman overtime procedure.

  • Payment of Overtime For the purposes of calculating overtime payments, each day or shift will stand-alone.

  • Overtime Overtime will begin to accrue after sixty (60) hours in a two (2) week period averaged over the scheduling period determined by the local parties. Overtime will apply if the employee works in excess of the normal daily hours. Payment for overtime is as in Article 16.01.

  • Overtime Meals When employees are required to work more than two (2) hours beyond their regular work days, the Employer will provide hot meals at no cost to the employees, up to a maximum of sixteen dollars ($16.00) (receipts to be submitted) plus paid meal periods of one-half (1/2) hour at the prevailing rate and thereafter at four (4) hour intervals. Any early morning start before regular starting time is entitled to a paid meal. The breakfast limit is thirteen dollars ($13.00) (receipts to be submitted). Employees called out on overtime shall be paid for meals as above, after four (4) hours work.

  • Overtime Compensation 1. Except as provided in this section, Grantee will be responsible for any obligations of premium overtime pay due employees. Premium overtime pay is defined as any compensation paid to an individual in addition to the employee’s normal rate of pay for hours worked in excess of normal working hours. 2. Funds provided under this Contract may be used to pay the premium portion of overtime only under the following conditions: i. With the prior written approval of System Agency; ii. Temporarily, in the case of an emergency or an occasional operational bottleneck; iii. When employees are performing indirect functions, such as administration, maintenance, or accounting; iv. In performance of tests, laboratory procedures, or similar operations that are continuous in nature and cannot reasonably be interrupted or otherwise completed; or v. When lower overall cost to System Agency will result.

  • No Layoff to Compensate for Overtime Employees shall not be required to layoff during regular hours to equalize any overtime worked.

  • Reasonable Overtime (a) There is a requirement to work reasonable overtime. Subject to that requirement being met, it is not compulsory for an Employee to work overtime in a particular case. (b) On jobs where overtime is necessary, the work crew may be rostered so that each Employee is not disadvantaged as to the amount of overtime worked (subject to the Employer being able to maintain appropriate levels of coverage as required to meet operational needs). On any day that overtime is worked there will be no necessity for all Employees on that particular job to work. (c) Excessive overtime shall not be worked. It is agreed that every effort shall be made to eliminate excessive overtime and create as many employment opportunities as possible. Any suggested and agreed measures to address this shall be discussed by the persons covered by this Agreement and reviewed regularly on all projects throughout the life of this Agreement.

  • Overtime Meal Allowance Employees required to work more than two (2) hours overtime consecutive with a shift shall be provided with a meal by the Employer.

  • Overtime Pay ‌ Overtime pay shall be paid to the employee on the next paycheque after the expiration of the pay period in which the overtime was earned except as provided in Article 16.6 (Compensating Time Off) below.
