Sessional. A sessional appointment is one in which the academic staff member is hired to teach one or more courses in a particular semester.
Sessional. A faculty employee hired to instruct one or more course offerings on a term-by- term contract basis.
Sessional. The University shall work to reduce the proportion of sessional appointments. The University shall report annually to the Faculty Association – University Relations Committee, in accordance with Article 6, on the progress of achieving this objective.

Sessional. A sessional appointment is a contract for a specified, limited purpose and with a terminal date. Typically, the appointment is for a single semester.
Sessional. Sessional Employees shall have their vacation pay added to each pay cheque in lieu of annual vacation leave.
Sessional. A Sessional Employee is an Employee who is hired to work commencing the first day, or earlier, at the discretion of the Employer, of a sitting of the Legislature and ending on the last day, or later, at the discretion of the Employer, of the sitting of the Legislature. Seniority for such Employees shall carry over from session to session.

Sessional. An employee who instructs one (1) course in a semester. If re-hired to instruct in another semester, the employee becomes a Regular Part-time Faculty Employee. If two complete semesters have passed since the employee's original contract, the employee remains a Sessional employee. Sessionals are excluded from the Collective Agreement, except Articles 1.2, 7, 12, 13.5, 15, 16, 17 and 22. Semester-based Programs: Those instructional programs offered in two semesters, each semester normally including fourteen weeks of instruction and a final examination period, scheduled between the dates of September 1 and April 30. Senior Administrator: Any one of the President, Vice-presidents, Bursar, or Deans.
