SPAREBOARD. The Employer will determine the number of spareboard positions which Operators may elect to work instead of signing up for runs. The Employer will endeavour at all times to maintain a number of Operators on the Spareboard equal to not less than 8% of the number of Operators that will be required to sign on the properties for the new sheet. The Spareboard will be filled in seniority order and the least senior Operators who sign the Spareboard, in excess of the 8% minimum, may be required by the Employer to sign for any work assignments not signed at completion of the regular sign- up described in Article 'O' 2.
01. The method of determining the number of safe Spareboard positions will be based on 8% of the following, as required by the new sheet being signed:
1. Indexes
2. Day off blocks
3. Averaged Annual Vacation blocks
SPAREBOARD. There shall be a minimum of seven (7) Spareboard positions to be signed for each board period sign-up.
11.02 a) Transit Services shall schedule Spareboard operators two (2) consecutive days off in any pay period while on the Spareboard.
SPAREBOARD. 22.1 The Company will maintain a guaranteed Spareboard (SB) in each classification of service. The Company will issue daily postings of all spareboard employee’s and their relative standing as of 00:01 and 12:01, once per day, per board (am/pm). Copies of the postings will also be provided by email to the Local Chairpersons, or their designate(s). A Spareboard may be required to maintain a supply of spare employees at the TOB rate of pay to service the UP Express trains.
22.2 Employees on spareboards shall be entitled to all work to complete the crew consist where applicable.
22.3 Except in the application of the following conditions, SB employees will be called on a first in first out basis: 1. clause 22.1 second sentence 2. clause 22.12 * 3. clause 22.16
SPAREBOARD. Any District One, Two or Three man who does not wish to sign-up for a regular run may sign the spareboard sheet instead.
SPAREBOARD. Spareboard – a pool of qualified operators who ensure and maintain safe and reliable customer service to cover short term/long term absences and meet unexpected service requirements. The Employer will endeavour to maintain a number of operators equal to not less than 12% of the number of operators that will be required to sign on the properties for the new sheet, except where agreed by the Employer, the Sheet Committee Chair and the local Union Executive Board, that a lower number is sufficient. The method of determining the minimum number of spareboard positions will be based on 12% of the following, as required by the new sheet being signed:
a. Indexes
b. Day off blocks
c. Averaged Annual Vacation blocks
d. Compressed Work Indexes The spareboard will be filled in seniority order at the quarterly sign-up.
SPAREBOARD. At points where spareboards are maintained spare trainmen will be run first in, first out; if runaround, spare man will be entitled to eight (8) hours pay at the rate of the service he would have performed if called in his proper turn and retain his standing on the spareboard. Penalty feature of this rule will not apply when it is necessary to call competent men.

The Employer will endeavour to maintain a number of Operators equal to not less than twelve percent (12%) of the number of Operators that will be required to sign on the properties for the new sheet, except where agreed by the Employer, the Sheet Chair and the local Union Executive Board, that a lower number is sufficient. The method of determining the minimum number of Spareboard positions will be based on twelve percent (12%) of the following, as required by the new sheet being signed:
1) Indexes
2) Day off blocks
3) Averaged Annual Vacation blocks
