Staff Nurse Sample Clauses

Staff Nurse. A nurse who is responsible for the direct and/or indirect nursing care of the patient.
Staff Nurse. A bargaining unit registered nurse who is responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care of the patients of the Hospital. An experienced registered nurse returning to practice who has recently and satisfactorily completed a nursing refresher course approved by the Hospital shall be classified as a staff nurse for starting pay purposes. References to “nurse” in this Agreement shall mean “staff nurse.”
Staff Nurse. A registered nurse who is responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care of the patient. An experienced registered nurse returning to practice who has recently and satisfactorily completed a nursing refresher course approved by the Employer shall be classified as a staff nurse for starting pay purposes. The parties acknowledge that the professional staff nurse is responsible for determining to whom to delegate a task, based on patient assessment. As provided for in the Nurse Practice Act (RCW 18.88), a nurse may only delegate a task (including medication administration) to unlicensed personnel in situations where it can be performed safely and competently.
Staff Nurse. It is the intent of the parties that seniority be a primary factor in filling open jobs. Members of the bargaining unit shall have preference over outside applicants provided RN meets the posted qualifications. In cases of job bidding, providing that performance, experience and qualifications are substantially equal in meeting the posted qualifications, the principle of seniority shall be determinative. Seniority for the purposes of determining preference in the filling of vacancies shall be determined by each applicant's hospital credits combined with unit credits accumulated from service in the unit in which the vacancy exists. If the combination of hospital and unit credits results in a tie between qualified applicants, the tie shall be decided in favor of the applicant from the unit in which the vacancy exists. If the tie involves more than one applicant from the unit in which the vacancy exists, the tie shall be broken by lot.
Staff Nurse. A Registered Nurse, currently licensed in Washington. The staff nurse is expected to plan and organize patient care, utilizing the current medical therapy plan as a frame of reference; gives, directs and evaluate scare, and effectively applies care and comfort measures to meet both short and long- term needs of patients.
Staff Nurse. Provided that any more favourable or beneficial vacation entitlement which applied to existing Employees in these positions prior to the effective date of this Collective Agreement shall be preserved and continued in effect: (i) during the 1st year of such employment, an Employee earns a vacation of 15 working days; (ii) during each of the 2nd to 9th years of employment, an Employee earns a vacation of 20 working days; (iii) during each of the 10th to 19th years of employment, an Employee commences to earn vacation with pay at the rate of 25 working days per year; (iv) during each of the 20th and subsequent years of employment, an Employee commences to earn vacation with pay at the rate of 30 working days per year.
Staff Nurse. Responsible for the direct or indirect total care of a 6 patient or patients.
Staff Nurse. A registered nurse employed by the Hospital who is responsible for the direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient. An experienced nurse, returning to practice, who has recently completed an approved nursing refresher course, shall be classified as a staff nurse. Nurses employed as staff nurses shall receive up to four (4) weeks' orientation to their assigned units and positions, unless otherwise mutually agreed.
Staff Nurse. A registered nurse who is responsible for the nursing care of the patient. Nurse in Charge/Charge Nurse. A registered nurse who is assigned charge responsibilities for an organized unit for at least one complete shift of eight (8) hours or more in duration. The definition of an organized unit shall be defined by the Hospital. In the event a nurse is assigned Charge Nurse duties by Nursing Administration for less than a complete shift, the nurse shall receive Charge Nurse pay for the time worked as Charge.
