Study Interruption. This Section 1. shall apply to events that occur during the Policy Period. The Company shall reimburse the Insured Person for Tuition up to the Maximum Benefits stated in the Schedule of Benefits that have actually been paid in advance to the OEI that are not refundable nor recoverable from any other source, as a result of the occurrence of any of the following events which prevent the Insured Person from continuing his/her study for the remaining part of a school term at the OEI, up to the Maximum Benefits stated in the Schedule of Benefits in the Policy, due to: 1. Death or Terminal Sickness of the Insured Person; 2. Hospitalization of the Insured Person in a hospital as an inpatient for more than thirty (30) consecutive days; 3. Medical evacuation, as a result of which the Insured Person is evacuated back to Hong Kong, under Section 6 - Emergency Medical Evacuation; or 4. Death of any Immediate Family Member of the Insured Person. 1. The Tuition is paid by any party other than the Insured Person or Immediate Family Member. 2. Any loss arising out of any Terrorist Act.

Study Interruption. The maintainer organizes the PSP so that it can be accomplished within the stipulated time period. The regulation for study interruptions applies according to the general study and examination regulation of FH Kufstein Tirol (ASPO) in the respective published version on the maintainer’s homepage. Payment of the tuition fee and ÖH fee is waived for the times in which a study interruption is granted in writing by the manager or principal, for example due to illness, military or alternative service, pregnancy or parental leave. No examinations may be taken during the time of interruption.
Study Interruption. The Insurer shall pay the Insured, compensation in the event of Study Interruption upto the amount stated in the Policy Schedule to the Policy, subject to the terms and conditions and the exclusions below. Terms & Conditions The Study interruption should have arisen on the following grounds: a. In the event of Hospitalisation of the Insured of more than one consecutive month from either a covered Injury or sickness or in the case of terminal sickness or in the case of a medical repatriation, or b. in case of death of any one immediate Family member or the sponsor during the entire policy period, which leads the Insured to discontinue his / her studies for the remaining part of the current school semester for which the Tuition fees have been paid, the Insurer shall reimburse the Insured, the Tuition fees which has already been advanced to the educational institution less possible/actual refunds, up to the amount stated in the Policy Schedule. In the event of a claim, the Insured shall make a request to the institution, in writing, seeking a written response from the institute towards any amount due to the Insured by way of refunds, both of which shall require being provided to the Insurer. Only the figures shown on an official invoice(s) from the educational institution for payment of said Tuition Fees in conjunction with the refund statement, if any, shall be used for calculating any reimbursement paid by the Insurer. It cannot exceed the maximum amount stated in the Policy Schedule. Simultaneous claims under ‘study interruption’ and ‘sponsor protection’ is not permitted.
Study Interruption. We will reimburse the Insured Person the tuition fees which has already been paid in advance to the Educational Institution, upto the amount as specified in the Policy Schedule / Certificate of Insurance, during the Coverage Period in the event that the Insured Person is required to repeat the academic semester solely or directly due to any of the following reasons: a. In the event of Hospitalization of the Insured Person of more than consecutive 30 days or the number of days as specified in Policy Schedule / Certificate of Insurance due to Injury or Illness, as specified in the Certificate of Insurance; b. In case of the death or emergency Hospitalisation of Insured Person’s Immediate Relative for minimum number of days specified in the Policy Schedule / Certificate of Insurance which prohibits the Insured Person from continuing his/her studies; This Benefit will be payable provided that: a. The Educational Institutionraised a demand for such fees and the same is paid by the Insured Person for the repeated semester. b. We shall not liable to pay any amount refunded by the Educational Institution.

The regulation for study interruptions applies according to the general study and examination regulation of the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol (ASPO) in the respective published version on the maintainer's homepage. Payment of the tuition fee and ÖH fee is waived for the times in which a study interruption is granted in writing by the administration or xxxxxx, for example, due to illness, military or alternative service, pregnancy, or parental leave. No examinations may be taken, and classes may not be attended during the interruption. The student's request for a study interruption must be submitted in writing, including a handwritten signature, to the institution within the following deadlines. The receipt of the student's request for a study interruption must be • for the winter semester by August 31 (postmark date), • for the summer semester by January 31 (postmark date).
Study Interruption. In the event of any prolonged interruption/discontinuance of studies at an educational institution for an Insured Person, who is a student pursuing an educational course as a full time student in an educational institution in the Country of Visit during the Period of Insurance, directly as a result of his/her Hospitalization for two or more consecutive months due to any Injury or Illness covered under this Policy, or in case of any (i) Life Threatening Condition or (ii) any emergency medical evacuation or (iii) death of any of the Immediate Family Members, the Company shall reimburse any tuition fees paid by or on behalf of the Insured Person to any competent educational institution, up to the limit of Sum Insured as specified against this Benefit in the Policy Certificate, if the Insured Person cannot attend the remaining part of his/her current semester at the education institution, and the situation warrants that the Insured Person has to take tuition to complete the educational course. This Benefit shall be payable subject to the following: Cover under this Benefit is only available if base Benefit I (Medical Expenses) is in-force and opted for by the Insured Person. Any costs or expenses payable under this Benefit shall be subject to the Aggregate limit of Sum Insured specified against Benefit I (Medical Expenses) in the Policy Certificate.

In the event of a Claim, the Insured Person shall make a request to the educational institute, in writing, seeking a written response from it towards any amount due to the Insured Person by way of refunds. Any such refunds shall be first deducted from the amount payable by Us. Any Claim in respect of any Insured Person for, arising out of or directly or indirectly due to any of the following shall not be admissible under this Benefit unless expressly stated to the contrary elsewhere in the Policy terms and conditions: (i) Any routine physical check-up and/or any treatments or examinations related thereto. (ii) Any treatment relating to the removal of physical flaws or anomalies or any form of cosmetic treatment or surgery. (iii) Any elective surgery. (iv) Any costs in any way related to psychiatric or mental disorder or any costs or periods of residence in connection with rest cures or recuperation at spas or health resorts, sanatorium, convalescence homes or any similar institution. (v) Any costs relating in any way related to the abuse or the consequences of the abuse of intoxicants or hallucinogenic substances such as drugs and alcohol. (vi) Any treatment which is paid for or furnished under any other individual or group policy, or other service or medical pre-payment plan arranged through the educational institution to the extent so furnished or paid or under any mandatory government program or facility set up for treatment without cost to any individual.

  • Vacations – Interruption (a) Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to a serious illness which requires hospitalization and commenced before and continues into the scheduled vacation period, the period of such illness shall be considered sick leave provided the employee provides satisfactory documentation of the hospitalization. (b) Where a vacationing employee becomes seriously ill requiring her to be an inpatient in a hospital, the period of such illness shall be considered sick leave provided that the employee provides satisfactory documentation of the hospitalization. (c) The portion of the employee's vacation which is deemed to be sick leave under the above provisions will not be counted against the employee's vacation credits. (d) Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to bereavement and jury and witness duty, the employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave and/or jury and witness duty in accordance with Articles 11.04 and 11.06. (e) The portion of the employee's vacation which is deemed to be bereavement and jury and witness duty leave under the above provisions will not be counted against the employee's vacation credits. (a) Employees shall indicate their vacation preference by March 30th of each year, and the Employer shall post the final vacation schedule by May 1st of each year. Choice of vacation period shall be based on seniority but shall be determined by the Director of Resident Care or designate having due regard to the proper operation of the Home. Vacation requests made after the posting of the vacation schedule shall be determined by the Director of Resident Care or designate having due regard to the proper operation of the Home on a first come first served basis, not on the basis of seniority. (b) Employees may request to have the weekend off prior to or following their vacation. The Employer will endeavour to schedule such request subject to the following: i) Where the weekend off is granted and the employee was otherwise scheduled to work on those days, such extra days will be deemed to be vacation days; ii) The employee must have such vacation entitlement available; and, iii) The weekend off being requested must be contiguous with (i.e. consecutive with) the employee’s original vacation.
