SUMMER SCHOOL AND ADULT EDUCATION. Section A: All openings for summer school and for adult education staff members will be adequately publicized by the Administration and shall be posted in each school building as early as possible and under normal circumstances not later than ten days prior to the start of said sessions. Applications must be submitted within one week of the posting of said notices. Staff members who have applied for summer school or adult education positions will be notified in writing of the action taken regarding their applications as early as is practicable. In the event the application is not granted, upon request of the staff member, the reasons therefore shall be given. Section B: Positions in the summer school and adult education will, to the extent possible, be filled first by regularly employed staff members of the Rockford School System. Section C: In filling these positions, consideration will be given to a staff member’s area of competence, major and minor field(s) of study, quality of performance, and attendance record.

SUMMER SCHOOL AND ADULT EDUCATION. No employee shall be required to accept a summer school assignment. Summer school employment shall not impact the employee's annual evaluation. Summer school employment shall be provided for under the provision of a supplemental contract at per diem rate of pay times the number of hours the assigned summer school class is in session. In addition, instructors will be compensated for one (1) hour of preparation time for each five (5) hours of instruction time. Any training or other preparation required by the supervisor will be paid at per diem rate times the actual number of hours worked. The initial search for qualified applicants will be limited to the Xxxxxxxx-Xxxxxx School District. Those teachers hired to fill the summer school positions will be issued a non-continuing supplemental contract for the salary amount. This stipend will be paid in one payment to be included in the first payroll warrant issued following completion of the assignment. Both parties are aware that the program may be discontinued at the sole discretion of the District.

SUMMER SCHOOL AND ADULT EDUCATION. 1. Teachers of summer school and/or adult education, when teaching a credit course, shall be issued a Supplemental Service Contract and shall be paid for each hour of instruction at an hourly rate of $55 an hour. 2. Teachers of summer school and/or adult education, when teaching a non-credit course, shall be issued a Supplemental Service Contract and shall be paid $50.00 for each hour of instruction.

All openings for summer school, Career and Technical Center ramp up programs, adult education, and similar positions will be posted whenever possible not later than ten (10) days prior to the start of said session. Timelines identified in Article 14, Section C shall be followed. All position awards are dependent upon enrollment. B. Positions in summer school, Career and Technical Center ramp up programs, adult education, and similar programs, will, to the extent possible, be filled first by regularly appointed educators in the Chariho Regional School District insofar as such preferences are consistent with the educational needs of the district. C. In filling such positions, consideration will be given to an educator's area of competence, most recent relevant assignment, major and/or minor fields of study, most recent evaluation rating, and length of continuous service in the Chariho Regional School District. D. The rate of pay for positions in the summer school and adult education is stipulated in Appendix B.
