17.2 The following Articles apply to Adult School teachers:
ADULT SCHOOL. 11.7.1 Bargaining unit Adult School teachers shall receive four (4) paid hours per month: one (1) for planning and meeting time and three (3) dedicated for preparation time. These four (4) hours shall be paid at the curriculum development rate.
11.7.2 Adult School teachers may be assigned nonconsecutive hours in their teaching schedules; however, every effort will be made to make such assignments voluntary.
11.7.3 When required to perform duties beyond the hourly teaching duties (serving on Accreditation Committee, faculty meetings, graduation duties, etc.) Berkeley Adult School teachers shall be paid the hourly curriculum development rate.
11.7.4 Adult School Ad-hoc Committee Each academic year an Ad-hoc Committee will be appointed in September. The purpose of the committee will be to determine the reasonable and fair time needed to complete attendance scantron work or testing form scantron work when this work is necessitated by attendance system errors or system failure out of the control of the faculty; and any other circumstance which requires or mandates teachers to provide extra duty outside of their regular teaching assignment. The committee will be called into session when Adult School hourly teachers are asked to perform duties where the number of work hours is undetermined or unclear. The term of the Committee will be from September to August of the following year. Adult School hourly teachers appointed to the Committee will be paid at the Curriculum Development rate for meeting time. The Committee will consist of: 2 BAS administrators 1District representative 1 BFT representative 4BAS hourly teachers representing the Academic, ESL, Voc. Ed., and Offsite departments, to be appointed by BFT Committee decisions will need at least one (1) BAS or District vote.
11.7.5 Job sharing at the Adult School occurs when two (2) teachers share a teaching assignment normally assigned to one (1) teacher. Assignments can either be Short-Term or Continuing. All assignments are limited to teachers teaching no more than sixty percent (60%) of a full time assignment for any given year. Short-Term: Teacher(s) assuming an assignment vacated by a teacher because of illness, leave of absence, or resignation. These assignments are limited to one (1) semester (part or total) if the total assignment for the teacher exceeds seventeen and one-half (17.5) hours per week. ADULT SCHOOL. Adult School teachers shall be paid the adjunct rate per hour. Home and hospital instructors are paid at the same rate as above for the Adult School.
ADULT SCHOOL i) Adult School Office Administrators shall be twelve (12) month employees. The Employer will endeavour, where financially viable, to offer the August adult ESL program.
ADULT SCHOOL. Adult School teachers shall be paid the adjunct rate 0.007*Cell B10 per hour.
ADULT SCHOOL. District (Required) It re-affirms the commitment that each has with respect to program articulation. Mission College and the above listed school representing their respective educational programs, have met, analyzed, and compared and agree on the content and exit competencies of their course of instruction. They have also agreed with no curriculum changes and recommend renewal of the following course: High school course ROP Video Production articulates with Mission College college course The attached renewal Articulation Agreement shall be placed into effect on this date. This agreement will remain in effect until June 2022.
ADULT SCHOOL. It is understood by all parties that should the relevant Article of the Collective Bargaining Agreement be opened by either party, the corresponding section of this article would automatically be open. For instance, if Article VII – Wages is opened, then section XX.1 would be part of that negotiations without either party having to use another reopener. Section XX.2 equates to Article VI – Hours of Employment. Section XX.3, Article XI – Leaves. Section XX.4, Article XII – Procedures for Certificated Employees Evaluation.
ADULT SCHOOL. Anticipated part-time Adult School position(s) taught for the summer period only shall be posted by the District on District bulletin boards at all school sites no later than April 15.

ADULT SCHOOL. Adult School secretaries shall be ten (10) month (normally September to June) employees. The work year shall commence on the first day of school and end on the last day of school. The Employer will endeavour, where financially viable, to offer the August adult ESL program. In addition, where the employer determines that the August Adult ESL summer program will be offered at all sites, the regular employees from each site where the program is being offered will be required to work. When the program is not offered at all sites, all employees shall be given the option of not working. The employees agreeing to work shall be offered the available positions by seniority. If a position remains unfilled then the least senior employee will be required to work.
