TEACHING AND RELATED DUTIES. The teaching and related duties of Level I Part-time Teaching Faculty Members shall consist of the following: 7.1.1. teaching and related preparation of college-approved courses in accordance with approved course descriptions and class schedules; 7.1.2. developing course compendia and reading lists, and participating in departmental responsibilities in the selection of textbooks and related teaching resources; 7.1.3. maintaining at least one (1) regularly scheduled office hour per week per three (3) contact/credit hours or any part thereof for the purpose of student- faculty contact as it relates to classroom/laboratory instruction; 7.1.4. meeting with students for the purpose of academic advisement; 7.1.5. maintaining accurate student records; 7.1.6. respecting student rights in accordance with the Board’s Policy on Student Rights and Discipline; 7.1.7. distributing to students during the first week of classes, subject to subsequent modification, with copies to the appropriate Xxxx, a course compendium that includes information about course objectives, topics with time-frames, reading and attendance requirements, and an indication of evaluative and grading mechanisms to be utilized; 7.1.8. within the scope of the Work Year, attending college convocations and college or system conferences, commencement, meetings and department meetings to the extent reasonable; 7.1.9. preparing routine reports such as academic deficiency reports or attendance verification reports for veterans’ benefits.

TEACHING AND RELATED DUTIES. 8.3.5.1. All Teaching Faculty members shall: (a) within the workload limitations of Section 8.3.1. of this Article, perform such other duties as the president may assign, provided that such duties shall be consistent with the mission of the college; (b) serve on college and division/department committees, if chosen; (c) attend and participate in commencement ceremonies, unless excused by the President, wearing academic garb when required; (d) attend and participate in college convocations, conferences, and meetings, and divisional/departmental meetings during the work year; (e) prepare and teach college-approved courses in accordance with approved course descriptions and class schedules, including developing syllabi and reading lists and keeping each course taught complete and up to date; (f) respond to and work with multiple constituencies, including students, peers (faculty and staff), and external agencies (business, community, educational, etc.); (g) possess strong information literacy skills, including the ability to word process and to use spreadsheets, presentation ware, e-mail, CD-ROM, compressed video, the Internet, the World Wide Web, and other distance communication modalities; demonstrate the ability to evaluate, synthesize, and make decisions from data. (see side letter Re: Computer Literacy) (h) perform divisional or departmental responsibilities in the selection of texts and related teaching resources; (i) maintain a minimum of three (3) regularly scheduled office hours per week, scheduled in time blocks of no less than one-half hour periods, or an equivalent assignment designated by the employer, for the purpose of student-faculty contact as it relates to classroom instruction; (j) engage in academic and career-oriented advising of students; (k) maintain contact with one’s academic discipline(s) or areas of assigned responsibility, the development of knowledge in one’s field of specialization, and the teaching/learning process; in connection with career-oriented programs, this also involves working with program advisory committees; (l) maintain accurate student records; (m) distribute to students during the first week of classes, subject to subsequent modification, with copies to the supervising xxxx, a course outline or overview, information as to course objectives, topics and assigned time-frames, reading and attendance requirements, and an indication of evaluative and grading mechanisms to be utilized; (n) attend system-wide convocations...

  • NON-TEACHING DUTIES The Board and the Association acknowledge that a teacher's primary responsibility is to teach, and that his/her energies should be utilized to this end. It is agreed that teachers will be relieved of non-teaching duties to the extent possible and practical through the use of non-teaching personnel to perform clerical-type tasks and supervise playgrounds and lunchrooms.

  • TRAINING AND RELATED MATTERS The parties recognise that in order to increase the efficiency and productivity of the company a significant commitment to structured training and skill development is required. Accordingly the parties commit themselves to: a) The parties to this Agreement recognise the importance of the apprenticeship system to the construction industry. It is agreed that every employer party to this Agreement who employs five (5) or more tradespersons in any one classification shall undertake to employ at least one (1) apprentice or make arrangements to host an apprentice from an agreed group apprenticeship scheme. Where an employer does not currently have an apprentice as per this provision, reasonable time shall be allowed to enable the employer to comply with this clause. Further, the parties are committed to a strong ratio of apprentices in the industry. Apprenticeship levels on a specific project may be discussed at the Project Pre-Commencement Conference (refer Clause 16). b) Providing employees with the opportunity to acquire additional skills within relevant career path structures through appropriate structured training based on nationally endorsed (i.e. Construction Training Australia endorsed) competency standards and curriculum; c) Actively encouraging employees to seek formal recognition of their skills (i.e. recognition of prior learning); and d) Using training providers accredited and acceptable to the parties. The CFMEU, MBAV and other employer associations are legitimately engaged in providing training to industry and it is hereby agreed that all parties will properly recognise and accept the validity of nationally accredited training as provided by the other parties. e) The parties will consult on the development of training programs which are consistent with the following: • Training provided will be consistent with the company’s business requirements, relevant to the work of the employees, consistent with the skills development of each employee and with applicable national competency standards. • Training may be taken either on or off the job with all reasonable steps being taken to conduct training in normal working hours. • If an approved training activity is undertaken during ordinary working hours, the employee/s concerned shall not suffer any loss of pay. • Approved training activities undertaken outside of ordinary hours will be paid at single time or will, at the employee’s option, be taken as time off in lieu of payment. Provided that the scheduling of time off must be consistent with the needs of the business and be by agreement with the company. • Training costs of courses approved by the company will be met by the company. • The company will not be asked to meet the costs of training undertaken by employees which was not approved by the company. • Leave of absence granted pursuant to this clause shall count as service for all purposes of the award and this agreement. • Accredited members of the union will be allowed up to 5 days per year, without loss of pay, to attend trade union educational courses conducted or approved by the union. (see appendix H) f) The parties to this Agreement recognise the importance of the role that Apprentices/Trainees fulfill within the industry and, more importantly, a role that they will fulfill as trades persons following the conclusion of the indentures. To this end the Victorian Building Industry Consultative Committee will investigate ways of enhancing employment prospects for Apprentice/Trainees. In addition it is agreed that, where appropriate, employers will use their best endeavours to employ Apprentices/Trainees in order to ensure appropriate trade persons levels for the future.

  • Files Management and Record Retention relating to Grantee and Administration of this Agreement a. The Grantee shall maintain books, records, and documents in accordance with generally accepted accounting procedures and practices which sufficiently and properly reflect all expenditures of funds provided by Florida Housing under this Agreement. b. Contents of the Files: Grantee must maintain files containing documentation to verify all funds awarded to Grantee in connection with this Agreement, as well as reports, records, documents, papers, letters, computer files, or other material received, generated, maintained or filed by Grantee in connection with this Agreement. Grantee must also keep files, records, computer files, and reports that reflect any compensation it receives or will receive in connection with this Agreement.

  • Certain Duties and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities of the Trustee shall be as provided by the Trust Indenture Act. Notwithstanding the foregoing, no provision of this Indenture shall require the Trustee to expend or risk its own funds or otherwise incur any financial liability in the performance of any of its duties hereunder, or in the exercise of any of its rights or powers, if it shall have reasonable grounds for believing that repayment of such funds or adequate indemnity against such risk or liability is not reasonably assured to it. Whether or not therein expressly so provided, every provision of this Indenture relating to the conduct or affecting the liability of or affording protection to the Trustee shall be subject to the provisions of this Section.

  • Employment Duties (a) Subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein, the Company hereby employs the Executive to act for the Company during the Employment Period in the capacity set forth on Schedule A hereto, and the Executive hereby accepts such employment. The duties and responsibilities of the Executive shall include such duties and responsibilities appropriate to such office and as are normally associated with and appropriate for such position and as the Company’s board of directors (the “Board”) may from time to time reasonably assign to the Executive. (b) Executive recognizes that during the period of Executive’s employment hereunder, Executive owes an undivided duty of loyalty to the Company, and Executive will use Executive’s good faith efforts to promote and develop the business of the Company and its subsidiaries (the Company’s subsidiaries from time to time, together with any other affiliates of the Company, the “Affiliates”). Executive shall devote all of Executive’s business time, attention and skills to the performance of Executive’s services as an executive of the Company. Recognizing and acknowledging that it is essential for the protection and enhancement of the brand name, reputation and business of the Company and the goodwill pertaining thereto, Executive shall perform the Executive’s duties under this Agreement professionally, in accordance with the applicable laws, rules and regulations and such standards, policies and procedures established by the Company and the industry from time to time. (c) However, the parties agree that: (i) Executive may devote a reasonable amount of his time to civic, community, or charitable activities and may serve as a director of other corporations (provided that any such other corporation is not a competitor of the Company, as determined by the Board) and to other types of business or public activities not expressly mentioned in this paragraph and (ii) Executive may participate as a non-employee director and/or investor in other companies and projects as disclosed by Executive to, and approved by, the Board, so long as Executive’s responsibilities with respect thereto do not conflict or interfere with the faithful performance of his duties to the Company.

  • Employment Relations Education Leave Employment Relations Education Leave will be allowed in accordance with the Employment Relations Act.
