Teaching Hours and Days. A. STAFF MEETINGS On Wednesdays, for no more than 1 hour, time shall be reserved for the principal’s building meeting unless mutually agreed upon between building administration and SEA board. All involved teachers are required to attend these meetings, unless excused by the administrator, with properly submitted and approved leave form. Under normal circumstances a 48-hour cancellation notice will be provided if the meeting will be rescheduled. The building principal will make every effort to provide meeting dates at the beginning of the school year.

Teaching Hours and Days. During each school year, Bargaining Unit Members shall be required to be on duty for seven (7) hours and twenty (20) minutes per day, including lunch, for instructional and supervisory purposes. Each Bargaining Unit Member must complete two evening events per academic year that last a minimum of two hours and no more than three hours (such as Open Houses, Graduation) for a total of no more than 5 hours. The District will notify Bargaining Unit Members of the evening event dates by May 15 of each prior school year. One time each month from September through May, the workday shall be extended for 60 minutes after the workday for the purpose of faculty meetings, professional responsibilities, or other functional duties determined by the District Administration. The faculty meeting schedule will be shared by May 15 of each prior school year. If a Bargaining Unit Member is absent for a faculty meeting day, one (1) hour will be added to their PLH responsibilities. Bargaining Unit Members may leave the school premises for the lunch period of thirty (30) minutes provided the Bargaining Unit Member complies with the sign in and sign out procedure which is established by the Administration and approved by the School Board. The number of working days for Bargaining Unit Members for each year of this Agreement shall be one hundred ninety-one (191) days per school year, one of which is completed through the completion of 5-10 hours federal, state, or local required/mandated trainings (see required trainings section listed below) Annually, the District may convert up to four (4) of the ten (10) professional development days to required Professional Learning Hours (PLH). Additional professional learning days or hours, if needed due to school closures, shall be mutually agreed upon by the Administration and Association. A minimum of three (3) in-person professional days will be scheduled during the week prior to the first student day. The School District will notify Bargaining Unit Members of all in-person Professional Learning Days by May 15 of each prior school year. The District will provide opportunities to earn PLHs. An in-service day that is converted to Professional Learning Hours shall count as five (5) hours.
