Storm Days. Teachers will not be expected to report for work when school is canceled due to weather or other emergencies. Teachers will not be required to reschedule or make up professional development or work time cancelled due to inclement weather, etc. unless the canceled time causes the school district to not meet the State required pupil instructional hours.
Storm Days. Where Employees are not required to provide services to students because of weather conditions, Employees will not be expected to attend work on such days and will be paid for such days. However, such Employees will be expected to work and to respond to normal fluctuations in day to day work, including extra- curricular school trips which extend beyond the normal school day, attendance at in-service programs, Employer and school-based meetings, committee meetings (excluding Occupational Health and Safety Meetings) and functions without additional pay.
Storm Days. 34.01 If an employee makes every reasonable effort to report on time for his/her regularly scheduled shift but is prevented from doing so because of a storm or hazardous road conditions, and the workplace is not closed, all time missed must be made up:
34.02 If the Employer sends the employee home due to a storm or hazardous weather conditions, no time is to be made up and no salary will be lost.
34.03 An employee who is unable to come in to work despite all reasonable efforts must notify the Employer prior to the start of his shift unless circumstances prevent them from so doing.
Storm Days. County employees unable to travel to their normal place of employment because of inclement weather, roads closed or not, will make up the time lost from their job, deduct the lost time from vacation time, use compensatory time, or have the lost time deducted from their pay. The method to be used to compensate for the lost time must be mutually agreed upon by the Department Head and the employee within ten (10) working days of the date of absence. Should the lost time be made up by the employee after business hours, on weekends, holidays or other unscheduled work time, the employee shall not be entitled to receive any overtime or other compensation other than to serve as a credit against the lost time. Redwood County offices will never all be officially closed due to inclement weather.
Storm Days. On storm days, when school is officially closed, secretaries will not be required to report for duty. In the event the normal opening of school is delayed for pupils because of inclement weather, employees will follow the same time delay as defined in the school calendar for starting times.
Storm Days. On days when school is canceled due to weather conditions, all Employees will be excused with pay. Central Office Employees who may be required to work on any such day shall receive compensatory time.
Storm Days. 1. Employees who wish to work on a declared storm day may do so only with supervisory approval. Employees may elect to be paid for storm days, which days shall be deducted from their earned vacation time.
2. Employees who are sent home after reporting to work due to an unplanned dismissal of school, or delayed start of school, will be paid for a full day's work if the day will not be re-scheduled.
Storm Days. 1. When school is called off during the school day, after the school day has started, all paraprofessionals are required to work until excused by their building principal. In no case will a paraprofessional be required to remain in class once the teacher has left. Employees released under these conditions shall receive their full day's pay. Employees who leave the school building without being released by their principal will not be paid for the additional released time.
2. When the opening of school is delayed due to inclement weather, paraprofessionals are not required to report to work earlier than their delayed opening start time. However, paraprofessionals shall be permitted to report to school at their normal start time, provided that they 1) report to the principal that they are present, and 2) are willing to work a temporary assignment for the time between their normal start time and their delayed opening start time.
Storm Days. Employees whose job function requires travel, excluding travel to and from work, shall not be required to do so when severe winter weather conditions would present potential personal risk to the Employees. Such determination shall be mutually agreed upon on a case by case basis between the department head and the Employee(s) involved.
Storm Days. In the event that the Senior Administrative Officer declares the weather conditions to be adverse enough to not commence operations, then all employees will either not be required to report for work, or shall be allowed to leave work, as the case may be. Leave with pay will be granted for the purposes of this Article.
