TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINING. (a) In the event of proposed technological changes to existing duties included within the classification of office and clerical workers listed in Appendix “A”, the Employer agrees to advise the Union Representative of such changes and further agrees to offer employment to their present employees before hiring from the outside market. The Employer further agrees to institute a training program for these employees who wish to accept employment in these positions. In the event that employees are not successful in being trained for the new positions, they shall be forwarded all rights under Article 14 and 15 of the Collective Agreement.

TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINING. The Company agrees that as new technology is introduced into the workplace, the Company will provide affected employees with sufficient training necessary to learn the new technology at no cost or loss to the employee.
TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINING. 15.9.1 The Company shall conduct, in the normal course of business and in accordance with Good Electricity Industry Practice and the applicable Plans, employee training programmes from time to time, including training in each of the skills used in the Project and training in modern management methods for those employees qualified for management training. The training programmes shall from time to time focus on technical, managerial and administrative matters, including [GON to include any specific requirements for training programmes]. The cost of such employee training will be a normal cost of business and shall be at the Company's own cost and expense.

From time to time, representatives from the Corporation and the MCVRA will meet to discuss technological changes in repairing and estimating. The Corporation will also participate with the MCVRA in training courses for areas of mutual interest, e.g., Commercial Vehicle Collision Repair, trade committee, and OEM manufacturer’s standards.
TECHNOLOGY AND TRAINING. The Company shall give the Union three (3) months notice when the Company intends to introduce any processes or equipment that significantly affects an employee’s employment status and will provide reasonable notice of any significant change to process or equipment which falls within the Union's jurisdiction. Within ten (10) days after submitting such notice the Company agrees to meet Union representatives in order to discuss the time, procedure and training necessary for the introduction of such processes or equipment. The Company agrees to provide facilities and sufficient time without loss of regular weekly wages in order that each member becomes proficient in the operation of any process or equipment to meet the intent of this agreement. Whenever possible, members shall be afforded the opportunity to retrain in accordance with their priority standing. No member shall be laid off or lose his/her preference claim who has not been offered the opportunity to be retrained.

  • Education and Training The foundation of this Program is education and voluntary compliance. It is recognized that alcohol and chemical dependency may make voluntary cessation of use difficult, and one of the Program’s principal aims is to make voluntary steps toward ending substance abuse easily available. The outside contractor shall review and develop on-going educational and training information on the adverse consequences of substance abuse and the responsibility to avoid being under the influence of alcohol or chemicals at work. Certain training required by the DOT Regulations shall be the responsibility of the Substance Abuse Program.

  • Training a. The employer, in consultation with the local, shall be responsible for developing and implementing an ongoing harassment and sexual harassment awareness program for all employees. Where a program currently exists and meets the criteria listed in this agreement, such a program shall be deemed to satisfy the provisions of this article. This awareness program shall initially be for all employees and shall be scheduled at least once annually for all new employees to attend.
