Tradesperson. Tradespersons will take technical orders only from MTL or management, including written orders. Technical orders are defined as orders requiring specific technical knowledge or qualification on how to perform the task.

Where a trade task is restricted by code to those holding appropriate certification, only those with the appropriate certification will be required to perform the task described by the code, and paid accordingly. Tradesperson. Level 1 An employee at this level holds a trade certificate or tradespersons rights certificate as an Engineering Tradesperson (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering Tradesperson (Mechanical) or equivalent and is able to exercise the skills and knowledge of the engineering trade so as to enable the employee to perform work within the scope of this level. An employee remains at this level until they are capable of effectively performing through assessment or appropriate certification the tasks required of this function so as to enable them to progress to the next level as a position becomes available. Such incidental work would not require additional formal technical training; and • Able to inspect products and/or materials for conformity with established operational standards
