Trading Shifts. An employee who wishes to trade a shift or part of a shift shall first obtain permission from the management supervisor or designate, and every trade must be recorded. The number of approved trades in a sign up is not limited, although all trades are subject to management's approval. Trades may be approved for extended periods of time provided mutual agreement of both the management supervisor and Union representative is obtained.
Trading Shifts. The practice of trading regularly scheduled shifts will be allowed with supervisory approval only.
Trading Shifts. (a) Employees may exchange shifts among themselves, provided that: (i) the exchange is agreed to, in writing, between the affected Employees; and (ii) prior approval of such exchange has been given by the Employee's immediate supervisor. (b) Where such a request is made in writing, the Employer's reply shall also be in writing no more than seven (7) days after the request is made. (c) Such exchange shall not be deemed a violation of the provisions of this Collective Agreement and shall not result in additional costs for the Employer.

Trading Shifts. 12.01 a) A transit employee wishing to trade one or more of their scheduled shifts shall be required to find another transit operator with whom to trade shift(s). Once it has been approved, it then becomes the employee’s assigned shift and their scheduled working day.
Trading Shifts. Shift employees may trade shifts with each other, provided the request to such effect is submitted to the head stationary engineman on the appropriate form at least twenty-four (24) hours before the beginning of the shift in question. The head stationary engineman shall give the reasons for refusing such a request in writing to the employee. Such a practice shall not result in additional expenses for the University.

(b) Such trade shall be recorded on the shift schedule and a copy of the approved Shift Trade Request Form shall be provided to the affected Employees. The dates and times of the shifts traded are to be noted on the Shift Trade Form. (c) Such trade shall not be deemed a violation of the provisions of this Collective Agreement. (d) Corrective action may be taken by the Employer when Employees do not honour approved shift trades. Employees who fail to report for work for a shift trade on the Shift Trade Request Form may be required to provide satisfactory documentation to justify not working the shift.
Trading Shifts. Employees shall have the right to exchange shifts when the change does not interfere with the operation of the Fire Department.
