Training New Employees. (a) New employees entering the service shall be subject to a minimum training period of ten (10) days during which time they will be carried on the payroll in addition to the regular staff. The training will be organized so as to expose the trainee to each shift. (b) Such new employees who will subsequently be working in a relief situation on the same shift as other employees will undergo an additional seven working days of training while actually working a position. (c) The rate of pay for such new employees will be 75% of the regular rate of the position to be worked, for three days or ten days as the case may be, and then Article 31.1 will apply. (d) For each shift that the new employee is working at the 75% rate, an allowance of $13.00 will be paid the employee on that shift responsible for giving guidance and instruction to him/her. (e) The company will provide training to employees in accordance with the Canadian Transportation of Goods Act.

(d) For each shift that the new employee is working at the 85% rate, an allowance of $2.00 per hour will be paid to the employee on that shift responsible for giving guidance and instruction to him/her. (e) The Company will provide training to employees in accordance with the Canadian Transportation of Goods Act.
Training New Employees. The Employer and the Union agree that all newly appointed members shall, prior to assignment to regular duty with the Fire Fighting Division, be detailed to the Training Division for the purpose of undergoing a minimum of a five (5) day indoctrination course in the rudiments of firefighting.

  • New Employees The Employer agrees to acquaint new Employees with the fact that a Union Agreement is in effect.

  • New Employee Orientation The Union will provide each agency personnel director with the names and addresses of up to two (2) authorized Union representatives per agency to receive notice of each formal orientation meeting held by the Department. The notice will be sent as soon as such meetings are scheduled (but not less than ten (10) days in advance) and will include date, time and location. Due to operational exigencies, agencies may schedule an orientation which will provide the Union with less than the requisite ten (10) days' notice; however the Union shall be notified as soon as possible after the scheduling of the orientation and the Union representative shall be released from duty. Agencies shall routinely schedule orientations in a manner that will allow for the ten (10) day advance notice to the Union. During the formal orientation, the Union will be permitted to give a twenty (20) minute presentation which may include an enrollment in supplemental Union benefits. The parties shall encourage employee attendance, although attendance shall not be mandatory if an employee objects to attending the presentation. In the event a formal orientation meeting is not held, or the Union is unable to attend the formal orientation because the designated Union representatives cannot be released under Article 4, the Employer shall allow the Union representative and the employee(s) to meet during duty hours at a mutually agreed upon time and location for twenty (20) minutes Employee participation in these meetings shall be encouraged although an employee shall not be required to attend such a meeting.

  • Replacement Employees (a) A replacement employee is an employee specifically engaged or temporarily promoted or transferred, as a result of an employee proceeding on parental leave. (b) Before an employer engages a replacement employee the employer must inform that person of the temporary nature of the employment and of the rights of the employee who is being replaced.

  • Shift Employees Employees who work rotating shift patterns or those who work qualifying shifts shall be entitled, on completion of 12 months employment on shift work, to up to an additional 5 days annual leave, based on the number of qualifying shifts worked. The entitlement will be calculated on the annual leave anniversary date. Qualifying shifts are defined as a shift which involves at least 2 hours work performed outside the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm, excluding overtime.   • Student Employees A student employee is an employee who is hired for short-term work which is not ongoing. He/she is normally in the process of completing his/her post-graduate studies and is expected to return to his/her studies after an agreed employment period. The employee's benefits and working conditions are as per Article 34 (Temporary Employees).

  • Employee Lists The Controller shall also provide with each payment a list of employees paying membership fees and a list of employees paying service fees. All such lists shall contain the employee's name, employee number, classification, department number and amount deducted.

  • CONTRACT EMPLOYEES Contained in Annexure D.

  • Company Employees Each Party shall not, directly or indirectly solicit for employment, any employee of the other Party who has been directly involved in the performance of this Agreement during the Term and for one year after the earlier of the termination or expiration of this Agreement or the termination of such individual's employment, with the other Party. It shall not be a violation of this provision if any employee responds to a Party's general advertisement of an open position.

  • Current Employees Employees who are eligible to participate but not deferring shall have Elective Deferrals withheld in the amount of ______ % of Compensation or $_________ of Compensation. Employees and Participants shall have the right to amend the stated automatic Elective Deferral percentage or receive cash in lieu of deferral into the Plan.
