Transmitters. Transmitters will be used to provide the required 4 to 20 mA dc signals for all controllers and receivers. Transmitters will be of the electronic two-wire type, capable of driving a load up to 750 ohm, and will be powered from the plant distributed control system (DCS). Transmitters will be mounted such that the electronic housing is directly above the valve body. The valve body for all differential pressure transmitters (dP, level, flow) will be installed with sensing points on a horizontal plane. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Proprietary Information Page 7 AES IRONWOOD CONTRACT FINAL ISSUE - OCTOBER 30, 1998 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2x1 501G REFERENCE PLANT APPLICATION HANDBOOK -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CONTROL ENGINEERING DESIGN CRITERIA -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Static Pressure and Differential Pressure Transmitters Static pressure and differential pressure transmitters shall be Rosemount, model 1151 with smart electronics option, or approved equivalent. Three valve manifolds will be mounted on all differential pressure transmitters for calibration and isolation purposes. Five valve manifolds will be used on instrument applications where it is necessary to fill the sensing line under pressure (e.g., drum level transmitter). All manifolds will have a set of capped 1/4" FNPT test connections on the instrument side of the isolation valve. Level Transmitters Sensing elements for level transmitters will be of the following types: o Static head devices for vessels exposed to atmospheric pressure; air bubbler-type devices may be used if absorption of air by the liquid is not objectionable. (Level transmitters of this type are the same as static pressure transmitters.) o Differential pressure type with constant head chamber for high-pressure and temperature applications. (Level transmitters of this type are the same as differential pressure transmitters.) o Displacement float type for enclosed vessels of limited height. o Moving float type for fuel oil storage tanks. o Ultrasonic type for specialized applications. Flow Transmitters Flow transmitters for general applications will be of the differential pressure type: o Primary Elements. Flow nozzles will be used for main steam flow, feedwater flow, and other critical measurements where weld-in cons...
Transmitters. A. Must meet original manufacturer's specifications.
B. All RF shielding must be in place. C. Must have a visual indicator of transmitter operation.
D. Must be tagged with NEXTEL's name, equipment model number, serial number, and operating frequency(ies).
E. All low-level, pre-driver and driver stages in exciter must be shielded.

Transmitters. Transmitters shall be 4-20 mA dc two-wire, solid-state type, with plug-in circuit board. External zero and span adjustments are required. All parts of the transmitter in contact with the process medium shall be constructed of materials suitable for the application and the pressure-temperature conditions encountered. Transmitters utilized for measuring differential pressure, flow, and level shall be furnished with a preassembled valve manifold suitable for mounting directly on the transmitter. All transmitters shall be designed to prevent the process medium from contacting the electronics or from entering the wiring circuit if the measuring element fails.
0.1 percent or better. Each transmitter shall have an integral junction box with terminal strip, integral test jacks, and conduit connection, and shall be complete with all mounting accessories. When transmitters are required to provide multiple outputs to recorders, indicators, etc, as well as providing an input to the control system, the circuit shall be arranged so that disconnecting an input to a recorder, indicator, etc, shall not cause an upset in the control system, or a change in transmitter calibration. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EPC - Exhibit B -------------------- TENASKA GEORGIA GENERATION PROJECT Page 125 of 132 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It shall be possible to ground either output terminal of a transmitter or its receiver without affecting transmitter characteristics. There shall be no signal grounds within the transmitters. Reservoirs shall be furnished by the Contractor when required by the service or type of transmitter supplied. The dynamic response of transmitters and converters shall be compatible with the performance requirements of the loops or systems.
Transmitters. A. Sensors/Input Devices to BDCS
1. Room: Space temperature sensing shall be accomplished with a 10,000 Ohm NTC thermistor or 1,000 Ohm platinum RTD. Sensing temperatures shall range from 32 Deg.
Transmitters. All transmitters will link to central receiver by radio signal, as used in all parts of the museum. All transmitters are battery powered, and the batteries should last for 14 months, but are normally changed during the routine service (12 months). To aid signal reception, 2 radio repeater boosters have been included. This will allow a message to be sent to up to 10 mobile phones, the GSM card allows 100 text per month, with additional texts charged at 10p per text. Renewing of the GSM contract is included in the 5 year service charge. A remote PC can interrogate the system using the internet and remote access connection set up in Windows. This would need to be set up by your own IT staff, but it would allow the remote PC to run the P with the DARCA software on.
Transmitters. In the event a major repair to the premises must be made which will necessitate the TENANT’S vacating the premises, LANDLORD may at its option terminate this agreement and TENANT agrees to vacate the premises holding LANDLORD harmless for any damages suffered if any. TENANT shall notify LANDLORD immediately of any maintenance needed; maintenance performed or repairs in writing. TENANT agrees that they shall immediately test the smoke detector and shall maintain same.
Transmitters. Other possible sources of EMI are microwave ovens, industrial RF heating equipment, scientific or industrial telemetry equipment, and certain medical diagnostic equipment such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines. Areas in close proximity to TV or radio broadcast stations are frequently heavily saturated with EMI. Certain new devices associated with computer systems may also be a source of EMI. Some power wheelchairs and scooters have been shielded by the manufacturer to minimize the effect of EMI, but this “immunity level” cannot be made perfect or fool-proof. Even though you may have used your wheelchair or scooter for some time, and have never experienced unintended, erratic motion, or unintended brake release, you should always be alert to this possibility if you are exposed to any sources of radio waves. If unintended, erratic motion or unintended brake release should occur, turn the power wheelchair or scooter OFF as soon as it is safe to do so. You should also report the incident to the manufacturer. It is important to note that adding accessories or components or otherwise modifying your power wheelchair or scooter may reduce its immunity level to EMI. DO NOT turn ON or use communications devices such as cellular phones, walkie-talkies, CB radios, etc. while your power wheelchair or scooter is turned on. Be alert to any nearby sources of radio waves, for example: hand-held cellular phones, walkie-talkies, etc. being used by others. Be aware of passing emergency vehicles that may be operating two-way radios, and, of course, be aware if you are in the vicinity of radio or TV broadcast stations. Avoiding accidents caused by EMI simply requires prudent use of electronic devices, being aware of your surroundings, and taking common sense precautions.
Transmitters. It is a simple and easy process, and the Monitoring Center is always available to assist or complete the task for an officer.
