Travel and Training Time a) Employees will travel to and from the job sites from the regularly assigned headquarters on the City's time, in transportation furnished by the City, unless mutually agreed otherwise. b) For out-of-town training required or approved by the Department, the City will pay for the time spent in training and for round-trip travel time before or after an 8-hour work day from the work place to the training site and back, whether a driver or a passenger. c) The City may approve tuition reimbursement or payment for courses or tuition reimbursement that is voluntary and outside the employee’s regular schedule. Ordinarily, this training is not “hours workedfor compensation purposes.

Travel and Training Time. A. Out of town travel is covered by two sets of rules, depending on whether the assignment is for one day or requires an overnight stay. If an employee is given a one-day assignment in another city that does not require an overnight stay, all the time spent traveling between cities is counted as hours worked. However, time spent traveling between the employee's home and the airport (during the employee's departure or return) is not considered to be work time because it is the equivalent of travel between work and home. B. If the employee's out-of-town assignment requires an overnight stay, time spent traveling to and from the other city during normal work hours (including during a normally scheduled day oft) will be compensated at the employee's base rate of pay. No overtime will be paid for travel time when an overnight stay is involved, unless the total hours for the training and travel exceed what hours the employee's normal workweek would encompass. When travel time falls outside of an employee's normal work hours, the travel time shall be compensated if such travel time is by automobile (either as driver or as passenger) and not paid if such travel is via airplane. In situations such as these, the training shall be pre-planned and the employee's schedule may be adjusted to minimize additional hours that will be worked in excess of their normally scheduled hours for the week. In cases where training exceeds the normally scheduled hours for the week, overtime will be paid.
Travel and Training Time. Other than normal commute time, employees shall travel to and from job sites and/or from their regularly assigned headquarters on City time. Employees shall be permitted to use City cars if available. Employees who are required to use their own vehicles for City business shall be reimbursed according to City policy.
Travel and Training Time. Uniformed personnel working a shift of 8 hours or more shall be paid the equivalent of the agenda time and must return to work if the agenda time is 4 hours or less. Non-uniformed personnel working a shift of 8 hours or more will also be paid the equivalent of the agenda time, and must return to work if the agenda time is 6 hours or less. For any employee assigned to training of a duration of 1 week or more, the employee will revert to a 40 hour work schedule during the training period.

  • Job Training ‌ The Employer and the Union shall establish a Joint Committee on Training and Skill Upgrading for the following purposes: (1) for planning training programs for those employees affected by technological change; (2) for planning training programs to enable employees to qualify for new positions being planned through future expansion or renovation; (3) for planning training programs for those employees affected by new methods of operation; (4) for planning training programs in the area of general skill upgrading. Whenever necessary, this Committee shall seek the assistance of external training resources such as the Federal Human Resources Development Canada and Provincial Ministry of Labour, or other recognized training institutions.

  • Education and Training The foundation of this Program is education and voluntary compliance. It is recognized that alcohol and chemical dependency may make voluntary cessation of use difficult, and one of the Program’s principal aims is to make voluntary steps toward ending substance abuse easily available. The outside contractor shall review and develop on-going educational and training information on the adverse consequences of substance abuse and the responsibility to avoid being under the influence of alcohol or chemicals at work. Certain training required by the DOT Regulations shall be the responsibility of the Substance Abuse Program.

  • Orientation and Training A transferring employee will be orientated separately to both or their new home in accordance with Article 20 the collective agreement of the designated employer.

  • Employment and Training Administration The ratio of trainees to journeymen on the job site shall not be greater than permitted under the plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration. Every trainee must be paid at not less than the rate specified in the approved program for the trainee's level of progress, expressed as a percentage of the journeyman hourly rate specified in the applicable wage determination. Trainees shall be paid fringe benefits in accordance with the provisions of the trainee program. If the trainee program does not mention fringe benefits, trainees shall be paid the full amount of fringe benefits listed on the wage determination unless the Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division determines that there is an apprenticeship program associated with the corresponding journeyman wage rate on the wage determination which provides for less than full fringe benefits for apprentices. Any employee listed on the payroll at a trainee rate who is not registered and participating in a training plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the classification of work actually performed. In addition, any trainee performing work on the job site in excess of the ratio permitted under the registered program shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the work actually performed. In the event the Employment and Training Administration withdraws approval of a training program, the contractor will no longer be permitted to utilize trainees at less than the applicable predetermined rate for the work performed until an acceptable program is approved.

  • First Aid Training In the interests of the occupational safety and health of employees, the Employer will undertake an in-service program of first aid training aimed at providing a first aid officer for each department.

  • Fares and Travel Allowance All Employees shall be entitled to receive the fares and travel allowance as follows:

  • Travel Policy Section 1. Travel allowances and reimbursements, including meal, lodging and transportation expenses, shall be as provided in the Department of Administrative Services, Oregon Accounting Manual Travel Policy (OAM #40.10.00.PO). However, Section .105 of the policy shall read as follows: Personal telephone calls to immediate family members or significant others to confirm the traveler’s well being while on travel status are allowed. Employees shall be reimbursed for one (1) phone call home on the first day of travel and every other day for a five (5) to ten (10) minute call. When authorized by the Agency, employees will be provided access to State phone cards or State phone card numbers. When State phone cards are not available or the employee does not charge the call to his/her hotel room, employees shall provide receipts. Personal telephone bills reflecting the eligible calls made during travel status can serve as a receipt. The Employer shall give the Union at least thirty (30) days advance notice of any proposed changes to this policy. Such changes which involve a mandatory subject of bargaining shall be subject to negotiation if requested by the Union.

  • Professional Development and Training The Company shall pay for or reimburse the Executive for any reasonable professional development or training.

  • Customer Support and Training System Agency will provide support for the CMBHS, including problem tracking and problem resolution. System Agency will provide telephone numbers for Grantees to obtain access to expert assistance for CMBHS-related problem resolution. System Agency will provide initial CMBHS training. Grantee shall provide subsequent ongoing end-user training.

  • Travel and Expenses Executive shall be entitled to reimbursement for expenses incurred in the furtherance of the business of the Company in accordance with the Company’s practices and procedures, as they may exist from time to time. Executive may, in his discretion, elect to purchase, and be reimbursed for, business class tickets on any international flights for which scheduled flight time exceeds five hours. Executive shall keep complete and accurate records of all expenditures such that Executive may substantiate and fully account for such expenses according to the Company’s practices and procedures.
