Payment for Courses. The Employer agrees to pay all wages and costs of any upgrading and/or Courses that are required to be taken by any employee. Upon prior approval and successful completion of an elective Course, employees shall be reimbursed fifty (50%) percent minimum of the Course cost where such Course enhances the employee’s job. In addition, employees shall receive pay for any lost wages. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld.
Payment for Courses. (a) For teachers/ancillary staff who have attained placement on the MA+30 column, the Board shall pay course fees for up to three semester hours per fiscal year.
Payment for Courses. 1. Upon successful completion of an approved course, the employee must submit documentation of that fact to the Superintendent of Schools or designee before payment/reimbursement may be made, see Appendix F: RSU 26 Course Approval Form.
2. In the event the cost per credit hour is less than the University of Maine rate, the actual credit cost shall be reimbursed.
3. In the event the cost per credit hour is more than the University of Maine graduate credit hour rate, an amount not to exceed six (6) credit hours at the University of Maine rate shall be reimbursed.
4. Courses relating to a degree in another career outside the field of education, or current job classification, will not be reimbursed.
5. Upon successful completion of an approved course, an employee shall be reimbursed up to four hundred dollars ($400.00) for textbooks, materials and fees.
6. As an alternative to the regular reimbursement procedure, the RSU shall provide any employee who complies with the above approval procedures for course reimbursement the option of receiving a direct payment to any accredited college or university. The Superintendent or designee shall make arrangements at the employee's request with any accredited college or university for a direct payment, provided a direct payment option is available. This direct payment option will be applied in a manner consistent with all other sections of this article.
7. In the event that any employee who has used this direct payment option fails to successfully complete the course(s) or to provide written verification of successful completion within sixty (60) days from the ending date of the course, the employee shall reimburse the RSU the amount of payment made on behalf of the employee. Unless other written repayment arrangements are made with the Superintendent or designee, any reimbursement owed to the RSU by the employee shall be made by payroll deductions in ten (10) consecutive payments. Full payment may be made to the Superintendent's office at any time.
8. Should the employee cease employment with the RSU prior to completion of the course, the cost of the course shall be reimbursed in full by the employee.
9. The employee must sign the payroll deduction form regarding this direct payment option prior to the implementation by the Superintendent or designee.
Payment for Courses. 40 The City agrees to pay the full cost of all tuition and books to all police officers 41 successfully completing a police-work-related course within the period of this contract 42 leading to an Associate's Degree, Xxxxxxxxxxxxx Degree, or Master's Degree in Police 43 Science or Criminal Justice from an accredited institution. Courses required for such 44 degree programs shall be deemed to be police-work-related. Electives may be deemed 45 to be police-work-related with the prior approval of the Police Chief. If a disagreement 46 should arise over electives, the matter shall be resolved by the Labor-Management 47 Committee. 48 49 Payment shall be made as per the following schedule:

Courses required for such 28 degree programs must be deemed to be police-work-related. Electives may be deemed 29 to be police-work-related with the prior approval of the Police Chief. Payment for Courses. 7.2.1 Effective M y 1,2014 unit members shall receive $65 per college credit hour for any college credits earned prior to date of hire with the District, up a to a maximum of 120 credit hours. Additionally, unit members may receive $65 per credit hour for college courses taken after the date of hire with the District, with approval of the Superintendent. Such approval should be received prior to commencement of the college course. Unit members hired prior to M y 1,2014 shall receive $45 per college credit hour for all college courses earned prior to January 1,2014. Unit members hired prior to July 1, 2014 shall receive $65 per college credit hour for any subsequent college courses taken, with the approval of the Superintendent.
7.2.2 Effective July 1,2013 all unit members will be paid at a rate of $20 per pre-approved in- service hour, to be paid in a minimum of 18 hours with supervisory and Superintendent approval. In-service hours shall be turned in by June 1 for payment.
Payment for Courses. For people who have attained placement on MA+30, AB+60 column, the Board will pay course fees for up to three semester hours per year for courses approved by a majority vote of the Educational Review Committee.
