UNAUTHORIZED ABSENCE FROM WORK. When an employee is absent from work without authorization such absence shall be grounds for disciplinary action. An employee absent for three (3) consecutive work days without authorization has resigned. However, a person may subsequently apply for a retroactive leave of absence without pay to cover the unauthorized time off, and such a request, made within seven (7) calendar days of the commencement of the unauthorized time off, shall receive reasonable consideration, particularly in those cases where a documented disability caused the absence and that fact is supported by a statement from a medical practitioner as defined in the Family Medical Leave Act which is to be submitted along with the leave of absence request.

UNAUTHORIZED ABSENCE FROM WORK. When an employee is absent from work without authorization such absence shall be grounds for disciplinary action. An employee absent for three (3) consecutive work days without authorization has resigned. Immediately after the third day of unauthorized leave the employer shall send notice to the employee, by certified mail, of their resignation due to the unauthorized leave. However, a person may subsequently apply for a retroactive leave of absence without pay to cover the unauthorized time off, and such a request, made within ten (10) calendar days of the commencement of the unauthorized time off, shall receive reasonable consideration, particularly in those cases where a documented disability caused the absence and that fact is supported by a statement from a medical practitioner as defined in the Family Medical Leave Act which is to be submitted along with the leave of absence request.
UNAUTHORIZED ABSENCE FROM WORK. An employee who has been pre-scheduled and who fails to report for duty for one (1) work day without informing the Employer of the reason for his/her absence will be presumed to have abandoned his/her position. An employee shall be afforded the opportunity to rebut such presumption and demonstrate that there were reasonable grounds for not having informed the Employer.
UNAUTHORIZED ABSENCE FROM WORK. An employee who fails to report for duty for five (5) consecutive workdays without informing the Employer of the reason for his absence will be presumed to have abandoned his position.

  • Unauthorized Absence An unauthorized absence from the work site or failure to report for duty after a leave request has been disapproved, revoked, or canceled by the appointing authority, or at the expiration of a leave, shall be without pay. Such absence may also be grounds for disciplinary action.

  • ABSENCE FROM DUTY Unless a provision of this agreement states otherwise (e.g. sick leave), an employee not attending for duty will lose their pay for the actual time of such non- attendance.

  • Unauthorized Aliens Consultant hereby promises and agrees to comply with all the provisions of the Federal Immigration and Nationality Act, 8 U.S.C.A. § 1101, et seq., as amended, and in connection therewith, shall not employ unauthorized aliens as defined therein. Should Consultant so employ such unauthorized aliens for performance of work and/or services covered by this Agreement, and should any liability or sanctions be imposed against City for such use of unauthorized aliens, Consultant hereby agrees to and shall reimburse City for the cost of all such liabilities or sanctions imposed, together with any and all costs, including attorneys’ fees, incurred by City.

  • Notification of Absence To be entitled to payment in accordance with this clause the employee shall meet the following criteria:

  • Application for Leave of Absence 25.01 All leaves of absence without pay and any extension thereof must be applied for in writing to the Mayor or his designee, on forms supplied by the Employer, at least ten (10) working days prior to the proposed commencement of the leave except in serious or unusual circumstances, as determined by the Employer. Notification of the approval or denial of their requested leave shall be given to the employee in writing within five (5) working days after the submission of the request. Any denial of a requested leave shall include the reason for the denial.

  • Unauthorized Access Using service to access, or to attempt to access without authority, the accounts of others, or to penetrate, or attempt to penetrate, security measures of Company’s or a third party’s computer software or hardware, electronic communications system, or telecommunications system, whether or not the intrusion results in disruption of service or the corruption or loss of data.

  • Unauthorized Leave (a) Any unauthorized absence of an employee from duty shall be deemed to be an absence without pay.
