Unauthorized Leave of Absence. An employee re-employed after his continuous employment has been broken as stated above in Paragraph F.3. shall be considered a new employee with respect to Dismissal Pay.
Unauthorized Leave of Absence. Faculty members willfully absent from duty without leave, at the discretion of Administration, may forfeit compensation for the time of such absence and may be subject to discipline up to and including termination of employment. If a Faculty member granted leave fails to return to duty at the termination of the leave, his/her employment shall be subject to cancellation by the Board.
Unauthorized Leave of Absence. Any employee, who commences a personal leave of absence without obtaining prior authorized approval, as stated in this Article, shall be subject to disciplinary procedures.
Unauthorized Leave of Absence. Unauthorized leave of absence shall be considered as days, or portions of days, not worked which are normal working days and will cause the deduction from the employee's pay of an amount equivalent to the time absent. Employees taking unauthorized leaves of absence may be subject to disciplinary action, to and including termination of employment.
Unauthorized Leave of Absence. Any employee who is absent without authorization for three (3) working days shall be considered to have resigned from their position with the City by reason of abandonment. An unauthorized leave of absence during part of a day constitutes an unauthorized absence for the entire day.
Unauthorized Leave of Absence. An employee shall not be absent without first obtaining permission from their manager except in cases of emergency, sickness or other causes beyond the control of the employee, in which instances Security shall be notified or notification shall be made through the call in line, in the event the Company puts such in place. Notification shall be provided prior to the start of the employee’s scheduled shift. This includes regular and overtime shifts. Upon notification, employees who have not indicated a return to work date, must continue to call security or the call in line each and every subsequent day of absence until their return to work date is known.
Unauthorized Leave of Absence. Rules regarding Unauthorized Leave of Absence are set forth in Section 10.9 of the Personnel Rules.
Unauthorized Leave of Absence. The failure of an employee to return to duty upon the termination of an authorized leave of absence is an unauthorized leave of absence. An unauthorized leave of absence is grounds for disciplinary action, including dismissal, unless upon the employee's return, the employee furnishes reasons satisfactory to the department head and the City Manager for not having obtained an authorized leave of absence. The unauthorized leave of absence shall be treated as time not worked. The City shall deduct from the employee's pay, an amount equal to time absent from City service.
Unauthorized Leave of Absence. 1. Unauthorized leave is defined as absence from regularly assigned duties that are not in conformance with any leave provisions contained within this Agreement or without prior official approval of the District. Such unauthorized leave may include, but is not limited to, collective refusals to provide service, unauthorized use of sick leave, unauthorized use of other leave benefits, nonattendance at required meetings and failure to perform assigned supervisory functions at school-sponsored activities.
2. Absence that is determined to constitute unauthorized leave may result in the initiation of such disciplinary action as may be deemed appropriate.
3. The Superintendent or the supervisor of the bargaining unit member may require a physician's or other verification as to an employee's claimed reason for absence in any situation in which it is believed that no valid grounds exist for the bargaining unit member's claim for absence. Such verification shall be made within five (5) days of the absence.
Unauthorized Leave of Absence. When a Non-Exempt Employee is absence without authorization, one or more of the following may occur depending upon the circumstances:
10.9.1 An unauthorized leave of absence is treated as time not worked. For an unauthorized leave of absence of a Non-Exempt Employee, the City shall deduct from the Employee's pay an amount equal to time absent. After receiving notice of the City’s intent to make such a deduction, a Non-Exempt Employee may file a Grievance.
10.9.2 An unauthorized leave of absence is grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including Dismissal. Such disciplinary action shall be imposed pursuant to Chapter 12 of these Rules.
