UNIFORMS AND LAB COATS. 28.1 The Medical Center shall provide four (4) lab coats or jackets to employees who work in the lab, maternity/OB, O.R., R.R., pharmacy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy and utilization review/discharge planning. Per diem employees in these departments shall receive two (2) lab coats. The choice of jackets or coats will be made by the majority of employees in each department. All full time employees who work in departments that are eligible for uniforms shall receive two (2) new lab coats or jackets each year by the end of the first quarter of the year. Part time and per diem employees shall receive one (1) new lab coat or jacket each year by the end of the first quarter of the year. For full time employees, up to two (2) worn or damaged lab coats or jackets shall be replaced annually upon returning it to the Medical Center. Part time and per diem employees may turn in one (1) worn or damaged lab coat or jacket annually to be replaced upon returning it to the Medical Center. Replacement cost of lost lab coats or jackets will be borne by the employee. The lab coats and jackets shall remain the property of the Medical Center and must be returned when an employee terminates his/her employment. Laundering shall be the responsibility of the employees. The Medical Center reserves the right to institute a disposable lab coat program.

The number of uniforms for Part Time employees will be pro-rated and will be rounded up if the number of uniforms results in a fraction. Non-boiler room maintenance employees shall receive six (6) uniforms: three (3) summer weight and (3) winter weight. Female Housekeeping employees will receive three (3) winter weight and three (3) summer weight tops. Patient Care Tech uniforms shall have a distinct identity/color. All full time employees required wearing uniforms, lab coats or jackets shall receive two (2) uniforms, lab coats or jackets each year by the end of the first quarter of the year. UNIFORMS AND LAB COATS. Employees who are required to furnish and wear full uniforms (which may include lab coats) in the performance of their duties are entitled to a uniform allowance. Effective June 30, 1999, such employees shall be reimbursed $350 a year, payable every six (6) months in arrears and due at the conclusion of the first biweekly pay period in January and July. Employees who are eligible for a uniform allowance for less than the full six-month period in which they were required to furnish and wear a uniform shall receive a prorated payment based on the number of months during the period in which they were required to furnish and wear a uniform. Uniform allowances for on-call and extra-help employees shall be prorated based upon the hours worked during the period in which they were required to furnish and wear a uniform.

UNIFORMS AND LAB COATS. In areas that are managed by a contracted entity, the Medical Center will continue to provide uniforms to employees (Food and Nutrition, Environmental Services and Transport). Uniforms as determined by the Medical Center will continue to be provided to Admitting. Scrubs will continue to be provided to the following clinical areas: Same Day, Vascular, OR, PACU, Cardiac Cath, PAT and Endo. All uniforms remain the property of the Medical Center. Employees are responsible for the proper maintenance and cleaning of the uniforms. The color, style, and design of the uniforms shall be determined by the Medical Center. The Medical Center will give employees at least one hundred and twenty (120) days advance written notice of any change in the color, style or design of uniforms that would require employees who are required to wear uniforms to purchase new uniforms. Those employees who are issued uniforms are required to wear them during assigned work times or be subject to appropriate disciplinary procedures.

  • UNIFORMS AND TOOLS The Employer agrees to furnish and supply all its employees, without cost, laundered aprons and uniforms and such tools as are necessary in the discharge of their work and also service such tools at no cost to the employees.

For employees required by the Appointing Officer to wear a uniform, beginning in fiscal year 2006-2007 and continuing for the duration of this Agreement, the City agrees to provide a uniform allowance each year in the amount of eight hundred fifty dollars ($850).
