Union Education/Convention Leave. The Employer shall grant leave of absence, without pay or loss of seniority, to the Union Stewards during their tenure are Xxxxxxx to attend Union Conventions or Education Sessions. Such leave must be applied for at least two (2) weeks in advance, and all leave for all employees shall not exceed fifteen (15) working days per year. The granting of leave in this section shall be subject to the operational needs of the Home.

Union Education/Convention Leave. Employees who have been elected by the Union to attend Union conventions or conferences may be granted a leave of absence without pay by the Employer to a maximum of five (5) working days per calendar year for all employees combined, provided such leave does not unduly interfere with the Employer’s operations. The Union will notify the Employer in writing, as early as possible but at least four (4) weeks prior to the start of the leave, of the names of the members requiring leave. Employees granted leave under this provision will be limited to a total of one (1) employee at any one time. The Employer agrees to continue to pay any employee attending Union conventions or conferences and the Union shall reimburse the Employer for the amount of such wages and all applicable benefits within fifteen (15) calendar days of receipt of the monthly statement.

  • Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund, one (1¢) cent per hour per employee for all compensated hours for the purpose of providing paid education leave. Such leave will be for upgrading the employee skills in all aspects of trade union functions.   • Federation Leave A leave of absence for the president and a second position of the Federation shall be granted to any employee covered by this Agreement upon application by the Federation for the purpose of the employee serving as an officer of the Federation. The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits. Upon return from such leaves, an employee shall proceed on the salary schedule as if s/he had been employed with the District each year of the leave. The Federation agrees to consider carefully each request for release time for Federation members.   • CHILD BONDING LEAVE A prospective father, spouse, domestic partner or adoptive parent is entitled to child bonding leave of up to six (6) months. Child bonding leave must be taken within one (1) year of the qualifying event. Child bonding leave runs concurrent with FMLA/CFRA. The scheduling of child bonding leave (either on FMLA or CFRA) on an intermittent basis and/or requests for a reduced work schedule are subject to mutual agreement by the employee and the Agency/Department Head as allowed by law. Such an employee may elect to take accrued vacation or compensating time off during the period of child bonding leave except that in the case of an employee who is regularly scheduled to work less than the normal full-time workweek for the classification, paid leave shall be granted only for those days, or fractions thereof, on which such an employee would have worked but for child bonding leave. The use of sick leave during child bonding leave shall not be permitted to fathers, domestic partners or adoptive parents unless they are otherwise eligible to use it as provided in Administrative Code Chapter 3-20. Reinstatement subsequent to child bonding leave of absence shall be to the same classification from which leave was taken and the Department Head shall make his/her best effort to return such employee to the same geographical location, shift, and where there is specialization within a classification, to the same specialization. Questions as to whether or not the Department Head has made his/her best effort herein, shall not be subject to the grievance procedure.

  • Blood Donation Leave Leave shall be granted to employees to donate blood at an onsite and Appointing Authority endorsed program.
