Union Leave/Public Office. Any employee with seniority elected or appointed to Union office or selected for other Union activities by the National Union, the Ontario Federation of Labour, Canadian Labour Congress and/or Local Union, shall be granted a leave of absence for a period of three (3) years without pay, benefits or loss of seniority. Such employee shall renew their leave of absence on the three year anniversary date and extension privileges shall be provided. Any employee with seniority elected or appointed to any public office of the municipal, provincial or federal government, shall be granted a leave of absence for a period of three (3) years without pay, benefits, or loss of seniority.   • Unpaid Leave - Public Office Employees shall be granted unpaid leave of absence to enable them to run for elected public office and if elected, to serve their term(s) of office subject to the following provisions:

  • Leave for Public Office (a) The Employer recognizes the right of an employee to participate in public affairs. Therefore, upon written request, the Employer shall allow a leave of absence without pay to permit them to fulfill the duties of that office.

  • Public Office Leave (a) An Employer shall grant a leave of absence without pay upon the request of any Nurse to run as a candidate in a Federal, Provincial, or Municipal election. If the Nurse withdraws as a candidate or is an unsuccessful candidate, she/he is entitled to return to her or his former position without loss of benefits provided that the Nurse gives two (2) weeks notice to the Employer of her/his intent to return unless mutually agreed to a shorter notice period.

  • Public Office a) The Company will grant leave of absence for campaign purposes to candidates for Federal, Provincial or Municipal elective public office for periods up to and including eight (8) weeks, provided the Company is given due notice in writing of twenty (20) calendar days, unless the need for such application could not reasonably be foreseen.

  • Business Leave Each teacher shall be allowed five (5) days per year non-accumulative, deducted from sick leave allowance, for employee absence due to emergency, business, professional, household, or personal matters that cannot be attended to outside of working hours. Prior approval must be given by the administration with the exception of emergencies. The use of business leave will be allowed immediately preceding or following a school holiday, provided a substitute is available. In no instance shall more than two (2) teachers from Xxxx Xxxxx Middle School, two (2) teachers from College Place High School, and four (4) teachers from Xxxxx Elementary School be allowed business leave on the same day.

  • Union Office Space The Employer will provide an office not less than twelve (12) square meters in size.
