Leave for Public Office. (a) The Employer recognizes the right of an employee to participate in public affairs. Therefore, upon written request, the Employer shall allow a leave of absence without pay to permit them to fulfill the duties of that office.
Leave for Public Office. An employee who is elected to Public Office shall be granted unpaid leave of absence as required by the term of such Public Office.
Leave for Public Office. The Board shall grant leave of absence without pay to a teacher for the purpose of campaigning for or serving for the first term as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, the House of Commons or the local council of a municipality. Leave for subsequent terms may be granted by the Board. The teacher shall continue to accumulate seniority for the period of leave. Employees on the leave may elect to pay full benefit premiums to keep their coverage in effect.
Leave for Public Office. Leave of absence without pay shall be granted to any employee elected to a full-time public office and the name of such an employee will be retained on the seniority list for the period covered by this leave of absence without pay.
Leave for Public Office. Upon written request an employee shall be granted reasonable leave of absence without pay to seek nomination as a candidate and to be a candidate for a municipal, provincial or federal election or an election for a school division, conseil scolaire or district health board. Upon written request an employee shall be granted reasonable leave of absence as may be necessary for the employee to fulfill the duties of an elected public office if elected to a municipal, provincial or federal government or board of education, conseil scolaire or district health board.
Leave for Public Office. A leave of absence without salary shall be granted to any teacher, upon application, for the purpose of serving in an elected public office for a maximum of two years. This teacher must have taught a minimum of two years prior to the first day of leave. This teacher must teach a minimum of 110 days to receive credit for one year experience on the salary schedule.
Leave for Public Office. A teacher elected or selected for a full-time public office which takes him from his teaching duties with the school system shall, upon prior written request, receive a leave of absence without pay for the term of such office or two (2) years, whichever is less. Unless such teacher returns within the time limit specified hereinbefore, such leave of absence shall terminate unless it has been renewed for a specific period with the approval of the Superintendent.
Leave for Public Office. (a) The Employer recognizes the right of an employee to participate in public affairs. Therefore, upon written request, the Employer may allow leave of absence without pay, and the employee retains all benefits accrued and seniority up to that date of the leave, for a maximum of five (5) years, for the employee to hold office at the National, Provincial or Municipal level.
Leave for Public Office. When elected to a federal or provincial legislature or elected to a full-time municipal office outside of the geographical boundaries of the Region of Niagara, the Corporation will grant leave of absence without pay and for one (1) term of office. One further extension of one (1) term may be granted on written application. Seniority shall continue to accrue during such leave.
Leave for Public Office. 1. An employee who is elected as an MPP or MP, or other public office which requires full time leave, will be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence, for the term of office, to a maximum of five (5) years. Seniority will not accrue during such leave; group benefits participation may continue, at the employee’s expense. The leave may be terminated by the employee with two (2) months’ written notice.
