UNION SECURITY (Dues Deduction. (The following clause will appear in all collective agreements replacing any provision related to dues deduction that existed in the Hospital's expiring collective agreement:) 5.01 The Hospital will deduct from each employee in the bargaining unit an amount equal to the regular monthly union dues designated by the Union. The amount of regular monthly dues shall be as certified to the Hospital by the Treasurer of the Union from time to time. The amounts so deducted shall be remitted by the Hospital to the Union's Director of Finance no later than the 15th of the month following the month in which such deductions were made. In remitting such dues, the Hospital shall provide a list of the employees from whom deductions were made, including their job title and status (i.e., full-time, regular part-time, casual, or on leave of absence greater than thirty (30) days. A copy of this list will be forwarded to the Local Union. In consideration of the deducting and forwarding of union dues by the Hospital, the Union agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Hospital against any claims or liabilities arising or resulting from the operation of this Article. (Any other provision(s) related to union security that existed in the Hospital's expiring Collective Agreement will be continued in the Local Provisions Appendix.)

UNION SECURITY (Dues Deduction. Section 3.1 All employees covered by the terms of this Agreement shall be required to become and remain members of the Union as a condition of employment from and after the thirty-first (31st) day following the date of their employment, or the effective date of this Agreement, whichever is later. This payroll deduction authorization may be cancelled by the Company at its discretion upon the expiration or termination of the Agreement. Section 3.2 The Company agrees to deduct Union dues from the pay of any employee upon receipt of a payroll authorization card, signed by such employee, and to forward the full amount thus deducted to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union or to an authorized agent as directed. Section 3.4 When earnings are insufficient to cover deductions of dues after other essential deductions have been made, the dues shall be deducted from the next pay period in which there are sufficient earnings. Section 3.5 Dues deductions shall be suspended during periods of leave of absence or layoff. When the employee is returned to the payroll, deduction of Union dues shall be resumed automatically. Section 3.6 The authorization shall continue in effect until revoked by duplicate written notice from the employee by registered, receipted mail, one to the Company's Human Resources department and one to the State Office of the Union. The Company will rely solely on its copy of the written notice. Section 3.7 Each month, the Company shall furnish the Union: (a) the names of employees for whom dues deductions are made and the amounts deducted for each employee; and (b) the names of employees who have dues deduction cards on file and for whom no deductions are made together with the reasons therefore. Dues deducted monthly during each calendar month shall apply to dues payable to the Union for the same month. Authorization forms received during the current month will be processed, if possible, by the Company for payment during the current month. The above list shall be updated by providing changes on a monthly basis. 6.02 Employees in classifications covered by the Union shall, as a condition of employment, become members of the Union and remain members according to the constitution and bylaws of the Union. 6.03 A copy of the dues checklist shall be sent to the Treasurer of the Local union. 6.04 By January 15th and July 15th of each year, the Hospital shall provide to the Union (Regional Office and Local President) an electronic copy of an updated list of bargaining unit employees including the following information: employee’s name, seniority expressed in years to three decimal points, service expressed in years to three decimal points, status (full-time, regular part-time, or casual, temporary or permanent) department or program name, job classification title, active or on leave, hourly wage rate, hours worked year to date, campus, employee number, date of birth, sex, address, telephone number, unlisted number excepted. 6.05 A representative designated by the Union or such other number agreed to by the Fiscal Advisory Committee (FAC) shall be given the opportunity to represent the Bargaining Unit at each of the FAC meetings. There shall be no loss of pay for attending such meetings with the Hospital. The Union shall advise the Hospital of the name of its representative(s) and his/her date of appointment within thirty (30) days.

UNION SECURITY (Dues Deduction. SECTION 1 The Town shall deduct, bi-weekly, union dues and assessments from the earned wages of each employee in such amount as determined by the Union agency not more than the amount of dues payable by Union members, provided that no such deduction shall be made from any employee's wage except when authorized by him on an appropriate form, a signed copy of which must be filed with the Town accounting office. Such authorization shall be for the life of the Contract and shall be continued hereafter as long as a Contract exists between the Town and the Union. It shall be a condition of employment that all employees covered by this agreement who are not members of the Union on the effective date of this agreement shall, on the thirtieth (30) day following the effective date of this agreement become and remain members in good standing in the Union or pay to the Union an agency fee not more than the amount of dues payable by the Union members during the term of the agreement. It also shall be a condition of employment that all employees covered by this agreement and hired on or after its effective date shall on the thirtieth (30) day following the beginning of such employment become and remain members in good standing in the Union, or pay to the Union an agency fee not more than the amount of the dues payable by Union members during the terms of the agreement, and allowed by law. SECTION 3 The Union agrees to indemnify, defend and hold the Town harmless against all liability fees and costs which may arise by reason of any action taken by the Town in compliance with the provisions of this section.
