Union Steward. A. The Employer recognizes the Union's right to elect or appoint Union Stewards on all shifts for the purpose of monitoring this Agreement and representing employees in attempts to resolve all problems or disputes before they are referred to the grievance procedure. The Union shall notify the Employer, in writing, and with at least ten (10) days notice, as to who the Xxxxxxx and alternates may be in each location.

Union Steward. I. The Business Representative of the Union may appoint Stewards, whose duty it shall be to see that the conditions of this contract are observed by either the Employer or the members of the Union or their representatives. In slack season he shall be the last employee to be laid off, providing he is qualified in the judgment of the Employer, and under no condition shall he be discriminated against because of his position as Xxxxxxx. Under no condition, excluding drug and alcohol abuse, shall the Xxxxxxx be discharged until the Business Representative has been given twenty-four (24) hours notice. Stewards shall not have authority to call a work stoppage for any reason.
Union Steward. A. The Union shall appoint one xxxxxxx, but the stewards’ duties for the Union shall in no way conflict with their duties for the Employer.

  • Union Stewards (a) The Hospital agrees to recognize Union stewards to be elected or appointed from amongst employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period for the purpose of dealing with Union business as provided under this Collective Agreement.

The cumulative total leave of absence will be determined locally, but shall not exceed forty (40) days per year per hospital. The amount of notice required and the number of employees who may be absent at any one time and from any one area shall be determined locally and will be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.

  • Recognition of Union Stewards and Grievance Committee In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the rights and duties of the Union Stewards. The Xxxxxxx shall assist any Employee, which the Xxxxxxx represents, in preparing and presenting her grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure.

  • Union Buttons The parties agree that all Union employees are entitled to wear a Union button while on duty, provided that the manner in which the button is worn shall not detract from the style of the uniform or costume normally worn by the employee.
