VDT Breaks. All employees working on VDTs may take breaks away from his/her screen of at least 15 minutes after two (2) hours of VDT work. In the event the VDT break does not coincide with a lunch or rest break, the employee shall perform other work duties, such as filing, etc.

VDT Breaks. Where an employee uses a VDT or other keying device for at least one hour, the employee shall receive a 10 minute break for every hour of utilization. Such breaks will be in addition to regularly scheduled rest periods. This does not preclude employees from receiving rest breaks when suitable non-VDT work is not available.

(b) Where a journalist or cadet journalist on any shift works on a visual display terminal for 2 hours straight, the journalist or cadet journalist shall be entitled to a 10 minute break in respect of each such 2 hour period. However, on extended shifts or parts of shifts, a journalist or cadet journalist may be entitled to more than 2 such VDT breaks. (e) In an emergency, the Employer may require a journalist or cadet journalist to work on a visual display terminal for a maximum of 2 hours and 30 minutes straight. (f) The provisions regarding VDT breaks prescribed in clause 8.3(b) shall be applied in accordance with the following: (i) The purpose of the VDT break prescribed in clause 8.3(b) is to provide a formal break from operation of visual display terminals after 2 hours of continuous use. The purpose is not to reduce daily working hours. (ii) The Employer may require a journalist or cadet journalist to engage in non-VDT work during the break provided for in clause 8.3(b). The intention is to give a break from VDTs, not a break from all work. (iii) The intention of clause 8.3

  • Rest Breaks Employees shall receive a fifteen (15) minute break during each four (4) hours worked. It is the Employer's intention to provide uninterrupted rest breaks.

  • Lunch Breaks The lunch break will consist of a one-half hour (or one hour where scheduled) unpaid break taken mid-way during regular work day. In the event that an employee is required to work during his regular lunch period he shall be allowed a one-half hour lunch period between the hours of ll:30 a.m. and l:00 p.m., otherwise he shall be paid double time for working through said lunch period.

  • Tea Breaks (a) Every employee will be entitled to a paid 10 minute tea break in each four hours worked at a time to be agreed between the employee and employer. (b) Subject to agreement between the employer and employee, such breaks may alternatively be taken as one 20 minute tea break. (c) Xxx breaks will count as time worked.

  • Coffee Breaks The Company will provide two (2) fifteen (15) minute coffee breaks during each work day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

  • Rest Break (a) An employee working overtime must be allowed a rest break of 20 minutes without deduction of pay after each four hours of overtime worked if the employee is to continue work after the rest break. (b) Where a day worker is required to work overtime on a Saturday, Sunday or Public Holiday or on a rostered day off, the first rest break will be paid at the employee's ordinary rate of pay.

  • Lunch Break Each Teacher shall receive each day an uninterrupted and continuous period of not less than forty (40) minutes for lunch, free from supervisory, teaching or other assigned duties (reference: Regulation 298.s. 3, Daily Sessions).

  • Breaks 40.1 One 10-minute paid morning rest break and one 30 minute unpaid lunch break will be scheduled within 6 hours after work starts. 40.2 Where an Employee is required to work more than two hours overtime after the usual ceasing time of the day or shift they shall be allowed a 20 minute rest break paid at ordinary time rates prior to commencing overtime. Employees who take payment in lieu of stopping work for this break will be regarded as having worked a further 20 minutes and shall be paid at overtime rates. 40.3 An Employee working overtime on a Saturday, Sunday or Public Holiday shall be allowed a 30-minute combined Rest Period/Meal/Crib Break after four hours work, such time to be paid at double ordinary time rates, with a further 20 minute Crib break to be paid at double ordinary time rates if the overtime continues past 8 hours worked. 40.4 In the case of overtime work being cancelled by the Employer at the end of the 4-hour minimum or any time thereafter, Employees will, in addition to the payments as prescribed, be paid for the 30 minutes combined Crib/Meal/Rest Period if not already taken. 40.5 If work proceeds beyond the 4 hours minimum then Employees will be paid for all time so worked.

  • H3 Break The Authority shall have the right to terminate the Contract at any time by giving three (3) Months’ written notice to the Contractor. The Authority may extend the period of notice at any time before it expires, subject to agreement on the level of Services to be provided by the Contractor during the period of extension.

  • Tie Breaker The parties agree to utilize the following procedure if two or more members of the bargaining unit hold the same position within the same department and have the identical seniority dates: 1. If two or more bargaining unit members have the same amount of time in a particular classification, the first tiebreaker is the date of continuous University service. Continuous service is that service unbroken by a resignation or termination from the University. 2. In the event that a tie is not broken by the foregoing procedure, the second tiebreaker shall be the uninterrupted service of an employee with a state agency, a county office, or a state-supported college or university where no break in service occurs. 3. In the event a tie is not broken by either of the foregoing procedures, we will use the last four (4) digits of the Social Security Number, in ascending order with the lowest number prevailing (i.e. 0001, 0002, 0003, 0004 – 0001 Prevails).

  • Coffee Break 23:01 The Employer shall recognize a paid coffee break period of 15 minutes duration in each half of a shift, whether during a normal work day or on shift work.
