WORKPLACE RESPONSIBILITY ALLOWANCE. 4.1 An employee appointed by the Commissioner (or elected by eligible peers in the case of a Health and Safety Representative) to undertake any of the following roles: First Aid Officer; Emergency Warden; Health and Safety Representative; Mental Health First Aid Officer; and/or Harassment Contact Officer will, subject to having undertaken the relevant training and/or possessing the required certification(s), be paid a workplace responsibility allowance at the following rate: Rate from commencement of the Agreement Rate from 13 March 2025 Rate from 12 March 2026 $30.51 per fortnight $31.67 per fortnight $32.75 per fortnight The full rate of the allowance is payable regardless of flexible work and part-time arrangements. An employee undertaking more than one workplace responsibility role simultaneously will only receive a single allowance payment in respect of all roles undertaken, unless otherwise approved by the Commissioner due to operational requirements. An employee’s physical availability to undertake the role will be considered by the Commissioner when appointing and reappointing an employee to a workplace responsibility role. Not all workplace responsibility roles will necessarily require a physical presence in the workplace for the role to be successfully undertaken consistent with Commission policies. A casual employee who is eligible to receive a workplace responsibility allowance will be paid the full rate of the allowance for a fortnight provided they engage in work during the pay cycle for that fortnight, irrespective of the frequency and duration of the work undertaken. COMMUNITY LANGUAGE ALLOWANCE A community language allowance will be paid where the Commissioner determines that an employee is regularly required to use their ability to communicate in Braille or a language other than English (including First Nations languages and AUSLAN) in the course of their work, and the employee meets the required level of competency set by the Commissioner.   • Employer Responsibilities Recognizing the inherent risk(s) in a correctional setting, the Employer is obligated to provide a safe workplace and to educate employees on proper safety procedures and use of protective and safety equipment. The Employer is committed to responding to legitimate safety concerns raised by the Union and employees.   • Maintenance Responsibilities 42. Agency shall, at its own expense, maintain operate, and provide power as needed upon Project completion at a minimum level that is consistent with normal depreciation and/or service demand and throughout the useful life of the Project. The useful life of the Project is defined in the Special Provisions. State may conduct periodic inspections during the life of the Project to verify that the Project is properly maintained and continues to serve the purpose for which federal funds were provided. Maintenance and power responsibilities shall survive any termination of the Project Agreement. In the event the Project will include or affect a state highway, this provision does not address maintenance of that state highway.
