WORKPLACE SAFETY & INSURANCE ACT. 13.01 All employees off duty as a result of accident or occupational illness incurred in or from the performance of their duties for the Municipality shall be paid the difference between their regular salary and the amount received from the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board, provided that this difference shall only be paid while the employee is in the employ of the Municipality.
13.02 Where any dispute arises relative to any employee's suffering from an alleged occupational illness or an accident occurring on duty, such dispute shall be adjudicated under the procedures and regulations of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.
WORKPLACE SAFETY & INSURANCE ACT. 7.1 Every employee who is absent from duty as a result of an illness or injury arising from his/her employment within the meaning of the Workplace Safety & Insurance Act (WSIA) will be subject to the provisions of the Act.
WORKPLACE SAFETY & INSURANCE ACT. 19:01 Any member of the Association off work as the result of an accident or occupational illness, and in receipt of WSIB benefits, resulting from the performance of duty shall receive full salary. In the calculation of full salary the amount of pay shall be adjusted to account for the fact that WSIB payments are not taxable. Any loss of time from duty as aforesaid shall not in any way affect accumulative sick leave.
WORKPLACE SAFETY & INSURANCE ACT. The Workplace Safety and Insurance Act shall cover all employees.
WORKPLACE SAFETY & INSURANCE ACT. It is understood that payment of income protection is for the sole and only purpose of protecting employees against the loss of income during time of such illness. Seniority and service will accrue and the Employer shall continue to pay its share of the premium for the benefit plans during the period of the income protection noted in this provision.
WORKPLACE SAFETY & INSURANCE ACT. The parties to this Collective Agreement agree to review and acknowledge the abuse policy of CONMED Health Care Group as amended. The parties agree that the abuse of residents will not be tolerated and that residents have a right to live in an environment that is free from abuse. For this reason, the parties agree to cooperate fully with one another in investigating any reported cases of abuse. Where an employee is required to leave the workplace while an investigation is carried out in response to a complaint of abuse, such time will be with pay for all scheduled hours lost as a result of the absence. When an employee is sent home with pay pending investigation, and a Union Xxxxxxx is on site, the Union Xxxxxxx will be present at the time the employee is sent home. If a Union Xxxxxxx is not present, the Union Xxxxxxx will be advised not later than the next business day. All investigations will be completed as quickly as possible, normally within five (5) working days. Furthermore, the parties will work to ensure that there is no retribution when an employee reports the abuse of a resident by another employee. The Union further agrees to work with the Employer to promote an abuse free environment. It is every employee’s and manager’s responsibility to know and understand the Collective Agreement which details rights and responsibilities for the employee and the Employer.
WORKPLACE SAFETY & INSURANCE ACT. 20.01 The parties agree to abide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations. The parties agree that they mutually desire to maintain standards of Health and Safety in order to prevent accident s, injury and illness.
20.02 An employee who is absent from work as a result of illness or injury sustained at work and who has been awaiting approval of a claim for Workplace and safety Insurance Benefit shall receive from the Employer payment equivalent to the payment under the WSIB as advancement . Payment under this Article will only be provided if the employee provides a written undertaking to the Employer that any payments will be refunded to the Employer following final determination of the claim by the Workplace and Safety Insurance Board. If the claim for the Workplace and Safety Insurance Benefits are not approved, employee would be entitled to benefits under the Short -Term Sick -Leave Plan, in accordan ce with Article 18.

(b) The Society agrees to top up WSIB benefits to the equivalent of 100% of the employee's regular salary while the employee is receiving WSIB.
WORKPLACE SAFETY & INSURANCE ACT. The Employer, the Union, and members agree to meet all legislative requirements as prescribed in the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.
WORKPLACE SAFETY & INSURANCE ACT. The Society agrees to cover all employees under the Workplace Safety & Insurance Act.
(a) WORKPLACE SAFETY & INSURANCE ACT (CONSENSUS AGREEMENT #12, signed June 4, 2011). An employee may access uninsured sick leave credits, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable Society policies and/or Collective Agreement, until such time as the employee’s claim for benefits is approved by WSIB. Any sick pay provided to the employee is considered to be an advance on their WSIA benefits and, if the employee is awarded WSIB benefits, that advance will be considered an overpayment owing by the employee to the Society. The employee and the Union will take all required steps to advise the WSIB of the advance paid by the Society and to ensure that the WSIB reimburses the Society for the overpayment.
(b) The Society agrees to top up WSIB benefits to the equivalent of 100% of the employee's regular salary at the time of injury/illness while the employee is receiving WSIB. Once the employer begins to receive more than 100% of the employee’s regular salary at time of injury, the cost of Living Adjustment provided by WSIB will be passed on to the employee.
