ABSENCE AND SICK LEAVE. The Employee shall be entitled to such reasonable periods of unavailability to provide services under this Agreement because of vacation or illness comparable to those he would otherwise be entitled to if he were a senior executive officer of the Company.

ABSENCE AND SICK LEAVE. A. A Council member absent from school because of personal illness shall suffer no deduction in pay for each of the first ten (10) days of absence in any school year. Such sick leave, if unused, shall be cumulative. In the event of an extended illness, a Council member may petition the Board for unlimited sick leave days and may submit such evidence, as he/she deems necessary in support thereof. B. Each year the Board shall provide every Council member with an accounting of accumulated sick leave by September l. C. No deduction shall be made in a Council member's salary for the following: 1. Death in the immediate family provided such absence does not exceed five (5) school days (from the day of death or day of funeral). Immediate family is defined as parent, spouse, brother, sister, child, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent or grandchild or any dependent relative who makes his or her home with the Council member. 2. Funeral of a relative other than defined above or a friend provided such absence does not exceed one day. Attendance at a wake can substitute for a funeral.
ABSENCE AND SICK LEAVE. A. An employee shall not be absent from duty without prior permission in writing from the Company except for sickness, injury or other justifiable cause beyond the control of the employee. B. Employees prevented from reporting for duty by reason of sickness, injury or just cause beyond the employees control, shall make every effort to notify his supervisor at least thirty (30) minutes before the start of the shift of the employees inability to report for work giving the reason for such absence. Should the employee not be able to do so for good reason, the employee must notify the supervisor as soon as possible. Any employee failing to so notify the Company within three (3) working days shall be summarily discharged without recourse to the grievance and arbitration procedures. Longevity for pay or vacation purposes shall not accumulate during any such absence from duty. C. Employees shall be entitled to five (5) sick days per year. Employees must notify the Company as required by Paragraph B above in order to be considered an approved sick day absence. Sick days may not be accumulated from year to year. Employees will not be compensated for unused sick days. The fact that employees use authorized sick leave days as provided for in this article, shall not be used as a basis for discipline.
ABSENCE AND SICK LEAVE. Leaves Absence Voluntary When the requirements of the Company permit, an employee, upon written request through their immediate supervisor, may be granted a voluntary leave of absence without pay for a period exceeding thirty (30) consecutive calendar days but not exceeding one (1) year.   • Vacations and Sick Leave The Executive shall be entitled to paid annual vacation leave in accordance with the policies as established from time to time by the Board of Directors, which shall in no event be less than four weeks per annum. The Executive shall also be entitled to an annual sick leave benefit as established by the Board for senior management employees of the Bank. The Executive shall not be entitled to receive any additional compensation from the Bank for failure to take a vacation or sick leave, nor shall he be able to accumulate unused vacation or sick leave from one year to the next; provided, however, such Executive may carry forward from year to year a maximum of ten days of unused vacation leave.

  • Vacation and Sick Leave During the Term, Executive shall be entitled to (a) sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies applicable to similarly situated executive officers of the Company from time to time and (b) 4 weeks paid vacation each calendar year (up to 40 hours of which may be carried forward to a succeeding year).

  • Approved Leave of Absence With Pay During Vacation When an employee is qualified for bereavement leave, sick leave or any other approved leave with pay during her vacation period, there shall be no deduction from the vacation credits for such leave. In the case of sick leave, this section shall only apply when the period of illness or injury is in excess of two (2) days and a note from a physician may be required. The period of vacation so displaced shall be taken at a mutually agreed time. An employee intending to claim displaced vacation leave must advise the Employer and provide necessary documentation within seven (7) days of returning to work.

  • Vacation, Holidays and Sick Leave During the Term, the Executive shall be entitled to paid vacation, paid holidays and sick leave in accordance with the Company's standard policies for its senior executive officers.

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.

  • Sick Leave Policy It is the policy of the State of Ohio to not unreasonably deny sick leave to employees when requested. It is also the policy of the State to take corrective action for unauthorized use of sick leave and/or abuse of sick leave. It is further the policy of the State that when corrective and/or disciplinary action is taken, it will be applied progressively and consistently. It is the desire of the State of Ohio that when discipline is applied it will serve the purpose of correcting the performance of the employee.

  • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

  • Paid Sick Leave For those jurisdictions that have passed or will pass legislation requiring Paid Sick Leave, Paid Sick Time will be billed back to Client at the straight-time bill rate for all hours taken by any Consultant assigned to Client. This section is not applicable until the effective date of such legislation has been reached.

  • Sick Leave 1. Employees will be granted one (1) day for each month of their contract year. The days granted will be available as of the first official day of the school year or the contract, whichever is applicable. 2. Sick leave may be accrued to the amount earned which shall be shown on each salary check. 3. The Board may require proof of illness whenever there is reasonable cause to believe that an absence is not due to a bona fide illness. 4. Days of accrued sick leave may be used to assist in the health care of persons who live in the employee's household, or to care for a parent, spouse, or a child regardless of their residence or for other relatives requested in writing and approved by the Superintendent/Designee prior to the leave. The Board may require proof of illness under the same requirements as the employee’s illness. 5. The absences in excess of available sick leave, deductions from salary shall be at the rate of 1/182 for Food Services Employees and 1/189 for Food Services Managers in excess of the number provided. 6. Employees hired prior to July 1, 1997: Employee will be paid for unused sick days in the following manner: a. Payment for unused sick days will be made to the employee upon that employee’s early or full service retirement or, upon the employee’s death, to the employee’s estate. Employees eligible for early or full service retirement who resign from employment and do not receive a retirement benefit, shall forfeit all rights to payment for unused sick days. b. Employees, who have a balance of less than 250 unused sick days as of June 30, 2002, will receive payment for 50% of the employee’s accumulated unused sick days up to a maximum of 250 unused days at their average daily rate*. c. Employees who have a balance of unused sick days greater then 250 days as of June 30, 2002, will receive payment for 50% of the employee’s accumulated unused sick days up to their June 30, 2002, unused sick leave balance, at their average daily rate*. d. Payments for unused sick days in amounts greater than $5,000 will be paid in equal amounts over five consecutive years beginning with the year of retirement. e. Payments for unused sick days in the amount at $5,000 or less or for the death of an employee will be paid in a lump sum to the employee or the employee’s estate in the year of retirement or death.

  • Vacation; Sick Leave During the Employment Term, the Executive shall be entitled to not less than four (4) weeks of vacation during each calendar year and sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies and practices with respect to its executives.
