An Executive Officer of the Association will be granted time off to attend meetings of the organization, at the discretion of the Chief Constable. The Association agrees from time to time and whenever so requested to furnish the Board with a copy of its Constitution and By-Laws, with amendments, and a list of the Officers of the Association.

Any executive member of the Association shall be granted time off to attend meetings of the organization at the discretion of the Chief Constable. (b) The Association agrees, from time to time and whenever so requested, to furnish the Employer with a current list of the members of the Association. (c) Association Executive members may perform work from time to time on Association business or projects of mutual interest to both the employer and Association Executive during normal duty hours. The Association shall compensate the Employer for all such time worked by Association Executive members during normal duty hours at a rate of 100% of the Executive member’s salary, plus the factor currently used by the Employer to assess member benefits. The Association Executive Member shall apply in advance to the Chief Constable to take time off to work on Association business. These requests shall generally be limited to a maximum of two days per month, and shall be subject to the operational requirements of the Abbotsford Police Department.
ABSENCE FROM DUTY OF ASSOCIATION OFFICIALS. (a) Up to three (3) duly elected representatives of the Association will be granted permission by the Employer to attend negotiating meetings for the purpose of carrying on collective bargaining or for the purpose of settling a grievance under the Grievance Procedure of this Agreement and shall suffer no loss in pay for the time so spent. (b) Time off without loss of pay shall be granted to official representatives of the Association, upon application to and approval by the City Librarian, when it becomes necessary to transact business in connection with matters affecting members of the Association other than those mentioned in Article 9(a) herein.
ABSENCE FROM DUTY OF ASSOCIATION OFFICIALS. (a) The Employer agrees that where permission has been granted to executive members or other representatives of the Association to leave their employment temporarily for the purpose of settling a grievance as outlined in Clause 13, the said members shall suffer no loss of pay for the time so spent. (b) The Employer further agrees that (in so far as the operation of Employer's services will permit) time off without pay shall be granted official representatives of the Association upon application to and permission of the General Manager, when it becomes necessary in connection with matters affecting other business of the Association. (c) Any leave of absence granted to executive members or other representatives of the Association for the purpose of collective bargaining with representatives of the Employer shall be without pay.
ABSENCE FROM DUTY OF ASSOCIATION OFFICIALS. (A) The City agrees that where it is necessary for the Officers of the Association to leave their employment temporarily for the purpose of union business with the City, or for the purpose of settling grievances as outlined in Article 12 above, the said members shall suffer no loss of pay for the time so spent, provided such business is conducted within the City. For the purpose of this Article, a minimum duty shift of at least 1 officer, or acting officer, and 3 fire fighters, shall remain in service. Should the number of on duty personnel required to be absent from duty under the provisions of this Article cause the duty shift to be reduced to less than four members, as aforesaid, the Association shall provide a replacement, or replacements, approved by the Fire Chief, at no cost to the City. Notwithstanding Article 5.4 where the shift officer is absent from duty under the provisions of this Article, the Acting Officer shall receive no additional pay for filling the shift officer’s position. Whenever possible, meetings between the City and the Officers of the Association shall be held at the Fire Hall. (B) Notwithstanding the foregoing, any member of the Association may be granted leave for union business required by the Local, provided that the Association provides a qualified replacement approved by the Fire Chief.
