Application for Other Leave. Each employee shall be responsible for reducing annual leave for the following year to not more than the 440 hours maximum allowed. After all employees have had all of the opportunities to schedule their vacations for the following year; any additional leave needs of the employee shall be subject to the following procedures: A. Employees may sign on a first-come, first-serve basis for those weeks remaining on the leave schedules. Employees must have previously uncommitted annual leave for each week for which they sign. An employee with two (2) weeks notification to their supervisor on a Form 3971 may elect to use 3-5 days of Annual Leave within the week signed for. B. For all other reasons outside of or in addition to the allotted vacation slots, employees requiring leave of any length, will contact his/her immediate supervisor and request the leave. The employee is responsible to insure that the immediate supervisor acknowledges receipt of their request (via a signed PS Form 3971). At the employees request a copy of the Form 3971, initialed by the supervisor, shall be given to the employee at the time of the request. The immediate supervisor shall evaluate the request considering the needs of the Postal Service and the welfare of the individual employee. The supervisor shall determine whether or not the employee can be granted the leave and shall inform the employee as soon as possible, but in no event later than the end of the tour on the work day following the day on which the request was made. Where no action was taken within this period, the request for such period must be approved. C. Awarding of annual and/or leave without pay, in amounts of less than eight (8) hours on a daily basis shall be on a first-come, first-serve basis and shall be handled independently of schedule annual leave.

Signing for full weeks of annual leave remaining on the schedule list shall he granted on a first-come, first-serve basis. 2. All requests for emergency leave will be considered to the greatest degree. Such requests for leave will be presented in a timely manner if possible, stating the reason the leave is needed. Requests for emergency leave will normally be granted.

If the employee elects to use less than 5 days, the remaining days (excluding the first employee’s scheduled days off) will be available for sign-up by other employees within the leave week. The cumulative total of leave allowed under this provision is not to exceed 5

  • Application for Leave Any request for a leave of absence shall be submitted in writing by the employee to the Employer or designee. The request shall state the reason the leave of absence is being requested and the length of time off the employee desires. Authorization for a leave of absence shall be furnished to the employee by the Employer or designee, and it shall be in writing.

  • Other Leave Granting of leave is a matter between the employees and the mill management. The Company will consider length of service and will endeavour to arrange leave of absence to suit the employee's wishes. Employees with ten or more years service will be given special consideration.

  • Use of Other Leave (a) An employee may elect to use annual or long service leave credits for some or all of their absence on defence service, in which case they will be treated in all respects as if on normal paid leave. (b) The Employer cannot compel an employee to use annual leave or long service leave for the purpose of defence service.

  • Other Leave With Pay The Employer may grant leave with pay for purposes other than those specified in this Agreement, including military or civil defence training, and emergencies affecting the community or place of work.

  • Other Leaves Other short-term leaves may be granted at the discretion of the Chancellor. The Chancellor’s decision to approve or deny the request shall be final.

  • Other Leaves of Absence In the event that you are on a bona fide leave of absence, not otherwise described in this definition, from which you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, your Separation from Service has occurred on the first day on which your leave of absence period exceeds six months or, if earlier, upon your termination of employment (provided that such termination of employment constitutes a Separation from Service in accordance with the last sentence of the first paragraph of this definition).

  • Request for Leave At any time, employees may request the use of short-term leave (annual leave, compensatory time use, or personal leave). Such request shall be submitted on the appropriate form and approved or denied on the form within one week of submission to the appropriate authority (practices of shorter time periods will be maintained) except that current practices concerning emergency leave requests shall be maintained. Requests will not be denied unreasonably. The issue of more employees requesting the use of short-term leave than can be granted because of operational needs shall be resolved at the LMC. The Employer shall not request the reasons for the use of earned leave other than sick leave as permitted by Article 12. All leave may be used in tenth of an hour increments provided, however that use of personal leave to cover tardiness related absences shall not serve as a bar or defense to disciplinary action.

  • Application of other Rules If the provisions of law of either Contracting Party or obligations under international law existing at present or established hereafter between the Contracting Parties in addition to the present Agreement contain rules, whether general or specific, entitling investments by investors of the other Contracting Party to a treatment more favourable than is provided for by the present Agreement, such rules shall to the extent that they are more favourable prevail over the present Agreement.

  • MISSTATEMENT OF AGE OR SEX In the event of a change in the amount of the Ceding Company's liability on a reinsured policy due to a misstatement of age or sex, the Reinsurer's liability will change proportionately. Reinsurance premiums will be adjusted from the inception of the policy, and any difference will be settled without interest.
