Apprenticeship Wages. Classes will be held from September through May each school year for a minimum of 144 hours per year; for 3 years, totaling a minimum of 432 hours over the term of apprenticeship.
Apprenticeship Wages. The starting rate for all apprentices will be of the top rate for the trade. A four (4) year apprentice will receive sixteen (16) equal quarterly increases until he reaches the top rate of the trade. A two (2) year apprentice will receive eight (8) equal quarterly increases until he reaches the top rate of the trade. For the purpose of calculating vacation pay, the apprentice shall receive the average pay of the hours he normally would have worked in his previous job in Schedule or the average rate he received in his apprentice- ship, whichever is greater. Apprentices shall regularly attend evening classes in subjects related to the trade. They shall also be to attend mandatory training courses which may subsequently be provided for their study of the trade as prescribed by the ApprenticeshipBranch of the Ontario Department of Labour. Time spent by an apprentice in mandatory classroom instruction will be paid for by the Company at his regular straight time hourly rate for all time lost from his regular work schedule as a result of such mandatory classroom instruction.
Apprenticeship Wages. New Hire apprentices with no seniority will enter at a wage rate of $26.00 per hour. The New Hire apprentice entry wage will increase by $0.50 each year. The first adjustment will occur the first pay period of July 2022 and will continue for the duration of this contract. Reference the chart below: New Hire Apprentice $26.50 $27.00 $27.50 $28.00 Each employee entering the apprenticeship program will receive a graduating rate increase equal to the difference between the employee’s current entry-level wage rate and the current entry-level wage rate of a technician. The apprenticeship program consists of eight training periods. Raises will be based on academic or OJT completion, whichever is higher. A $0.50 increase will be given at the completion of each training period.
Apprenticeship Wages. 1. 0000-2000 hours: If the employee is a current employee, the apprentice shall receive the current basic wage rate, exclusive of special or premium pay, or eighty percent (80%) of the first step of the assigned wage range for the journey-level position for which the employee is an apprentice, whichever is higher. If the apprentice was not an employee prior to selection as an apprentice, the apprentice shall be paid at the rate of eighty percent (80%) of the first step of the assigned wage range for the journey-level position for which the employee is an apprentice.
2. 2001-4000 hours: The apprentice shall receive eighty-five percent (85%) of the first step of the assigned wage range for the associated journey-level position.
3. 4001-6000 hours: The apprentice shall receive ninety percent (90%) of the first step of the assigned wage range for the associated journey-level position.
4. 6001-8000 hours: The apprentice shall receive ninety-five percent (95%) of the first step of the assigned wage range for the associated journey-level position.

A Company Committee conversant with the schedules of training and work progress shall be appointed to supervise and regulate the training and progress of each apprentice and to provide periodic reports thereon. A certificate of apprenticeship shall be made on a form supplied by the Director of Apprenticeship for the Ontario Department of Labour. On the satisfactory completion of the prescribed apprenticeship periods and the passing of all final examinations as may be required, a diploma will be issued by the Department of Labour.
