Association Office Leave. A teacher elected or re-elected to a full-time office in a state or national education association may make a request in writing to the Board for an unpaid leave of absence for the term of the elected office. If approved, the Board will notify the teacher (by certified mail on or before March 1) that notification for continuation of the leave for the ensuing contract year must be received by the Board by April 1. Prior to or at the end of the term of office, the teacher may make a request in writing to the Board to return to active employment status with Tahlequah Public Schools.
Association Office Leave. Teachers who are officers of the Association, or are appointed to its staff, may upon proper application be given leave of absence without pay for the purpose of performing duties for the Association. Teachers given leaves of absence without pay shall receive credit toward annual salary increment on the schedule appropriate to his/her rank.
Association Office Leave. A leave of absence of up to three (3) years shall be granted to any teacher, upon application, for the purpose of serving as an office or staff member of the Association (State or National). Upon the teacher’s return from such leave, the teacher shall be paid at the same salary as when they left, in addition to any raises to which they earned prior to their absences as long as not categorized as ineffective or needs improvement.

Association Office Leave. A. Any teacher elected to an office in NEA-Alaska or NEA which requires his/her full-time absence from the DISTRICT will be granted Association Office Leave at his/her request. This leave will be for an entire teaching year.

The Employer agrees to grant such leaves of absence, at the expense of the Association, and upon application from the affected individual, for the purpose of serving the Association in an official capacity as an officer, representative, or any other capacity, in its state or national affiliate. Said leave is renewable upon the written request of the leave holder to the Board of Education, or its designee.
Association Office Leave. Upon receipt of a written request made not later than forty-five (45) days prior to the beginning of a school year, the Board will grant a Bargaining Unit Member a leave of absence, without salary or salary advancement and without continuance of benefits, to serve as a full-time elected State or National officer of an Education Association. During such leave, the Board shall not reimburse the Bargaining Unit Member for the cost of courses taken, nor will the Board continue its payments toward insurance programs.

A leave of absence of up to three (3) years, without pay, shall be granted upon written application submitted to the Human Resources Office for the purpose of serving as an officer of the Association, or an officer in its state or national affiliate. Said leave of absence is renewable upon the written request of the leave holder. Return from such leave must correspond with the beginning of the school year. At least sixty (60) calendar days prior to the expiration of the leave the leave holder shall notify the District of his/her intent to return or extend the leave.
